Europe May 8th 2011

Tuesday Our hop on hop off experience continued, with more bus rides around the city.  We spent most the time at the tower of London. It was amazing seeing such a large fortress which has stood the test of time. We saw the crown jewels, armory, torture chambers and carvings on the walls made by prisoners waiting to be beheaded. We ended up spending 5 hours absorbing the history. After the tower we decided that we needed a break from the history so we went on a Beatles walking tour. This was slightly different to what we expected, but we had a great time walking through soho checking out Paul McCartney record label and the record studio where they recorded a few songs. Unfortunately we didn't get to go to abbey road. Tuesday night we went ... read more

Europe May 2nd 2011

We awoke in kl just before 9 and went and attempted to use the hotels gym (he is a cruel fellow) and afterwards had brunch at the food court down stairs of a huge supermarket, its quite a different sort of food court with a variety of asian dishes with guessing a good dish or going off pictures. I decided to go for a Penang laksa thinking that it will be a beautiful soup with a bit of veges meat and noodles but it turned out to be fish sauce, noodles and noodles, don't really recommend it. Amira went for this awesome dish but was told no no you choose from 2 dishes available. A vegetarian curry and a pork curry. And her pork curry was beautiful. We had a fantastic experience of lcct and the ... read more

It's less than a week until we head abroad and the nerves haven't kicked in with such a large to do list hanging over our heads. We did have a score on this Sunday morning before we jet set off with being able to get our ipad2. I'm finding it difficult to spell correctly using the on screen keyboard but practice does make perfect. Our first leg takes us to kuala lumpur departing at 6.50am Saturday the 30th. Quite freakishly our accommodation in kl is just over the road from where we stayed on our honey moon. We have already compiled a to do list of what things we would like to do while there for 26 hours. Anyway I will keep posting things onto this blog as much as we can ... read more

Asia April 23rd 2011

Day 1 of the holiday..... 3.50 wake up - very harsh!!! Left the house at 4.15, driven to the airport by dad, for a 6.50 flight. The flight was good, apart from lukes blood nose, and smelly people. The 6hours just flew by. We breezed through immigration and customs, jumped into a taxi and started our eating frenzy in kl. And yes, we have managed to spend the entire day eating. We started with lunch at a local food court, moved on to drinks with local snacks and finished with dinner from an outdoor  street vendor. In between we found time for swimming and shopping. To our little surprise we have found out, just before heading to bed (at 9 pm) that it's a public holiday tommorow. Fingers crossed that a few places are open for ... read more
