:) I was born in Trzebnica, and lived for the most of my life in Deutsch Hammer (now I live in Ireland). I remember that the cemetery was destroyed in late 80's. It was in poor condition, but it's a shame someone chose to erase it instead of looking after it.
Thank you Wow, it has been so many years since our trip. Our memories are so clear of our time in Poland.
Mind you we had a great time in Ireland as well. Am so glad you were able to access our blog. Thank you
Thanks for your post!!! My Great Grandmother was a Kirsch from Deutsch Hammer. She came to Wisconsin in the early 1890's. She returned to Silesia to visit around 1929. Some of her family still lived there at the beginning of WWII. One of my older brothers lived in Vienna in the 1990's and made the trip to Deutsch Hammer to see what he could find. He met with a local Priest who told him that anything that had a German name on it, like headstones, were destroyed by the Poles or Russians after the war in retaliation for Nazi atrocities during the war. Hi Mark and Michelle Good to read about your travels but July 9th was the latest??? What has happened since?
We are all well and eager for our next trip too...Germany in Feb. Where will you be?
Cheers,
Claudia
Hi M&M Could you kindly bring me back a carton of Triple Karmeliet because I would like to compare it to Boag's. Failing that, the Double Karmeliet will do. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, bring me back the Quadruple Karmeliet. After all, I'm not an alcoholic. Thank you so much.
Hi there. Thanks so much for thinking of us and sending the postcard. Often think about how you are going as I lost the address of the blog for a while so couldn't keep it up. Now that I have found it again we can try to catch up!
Hope you are both well and happy. Steve and I are, but quite busy so there wasn't much retirement ! We did have some time off though but now Steve is working full time for our son Josh, and also works a Saturday morning most of the time for a milk vendor. He loves it all! We have a gorgeous grandson Charlie and another bub due next month. Our daughter came home from South Australia to live with us in February. Life is full.
Cheerio for now,
Steve and Vicki East

all the best, a kiss from your italian friend.
Giovanni.
Fascinating What a fascinating story. I follow all of your blogs with great interest but this is the best one yet. It must have been a difficult trip for Michelle but I expect she's glad she went to Deutsch Hammer all the same.
I'm growing more and more envious of you with each additional blog. Aren't you running out of money by now?
HI m&m We have been following your journey, and have enjoyed reading your blog...
You both seem to be having a well earned break...
In regard to your visit to the Czech Republic, i was wondering if/or what feed back you had re: the demise of the Chech resime which lead to Slovakia being Slovak Republic in 1993...
Were you both able to visit Slovak...
Take care Grant and Kate...

to think, just over a month & my journey will commence - you have covered some amazing ground and what a wonderful life experience ! Love Love love ur pages of writings!!
Friends, Romans Some great photos of Rome. I was there in 1974 and nothing appears to have changed much. Funny that. I threw a coin in the fountain too and haven't been back to Rome since so I think that superstition is all hogwash. Could you get my coin back for me.
Sounds like you are both having a ball, loved the bloober about the ferries.
All well here our furniture left last week and only 9 days left to work.
Weather sunny but with cold mornings and evenings.
Enjoy yourselves
Denise and Taffy

Got the post card today. Thanks! Fantastic photos - keep them coming.
Glenda and I just back from a quick trip to Tassie via Melbourne. Conference in Melbourne and a consultancy in Stahan. Business and pleasure I know! Mell enjoying Uni and doing well! Getting some work at the Normandie.
Keep in touch.
Mark
Greetings Hi M&M,
I envy you. Your accommodation looks great. I stayed at the Gladesville Motel last night and it is the biggest dump on Planet Earth.
Dirty, dark, dismal, no hot water, no shampoo, old TV that didn't work. But don't worry about me, I'll be fine. Just try and have a great time regardless.
We've sold the business, got no kids, got no worries, got no time frame.
Time to throw on the back pack and "start livin' the dream".
For those of you that know us, we will spare you the usual dribble about our start of the trip via Bali, most of you've been there done that.
This trip is something we've talked & dreamed about for quite some time, hope we don't bore you too much & hope for some of you it will inspire you to follow your dreams & for others we hope it will rekindle some old memories.... full info
