So much scenery - breathtaking Hi again - the pictures are so amazing and so many. Unbelievable views but like you say there is no substitute for seeing them with your own eyes. Now you have seen a baby LLama coming into the world, surely you won't eat any more llama steaks!! Coca leaves I can do without but Iwould love to see the night sky with absolutely no light pollution. Reminds me of Provence that year by the pool which certainly was not as good as Bolivia. The 4 day jeep trek looked utterly amazing from your photos and so did the hexagon shaped salt flats. Nothing like it! The flamingoes sound beautiful and even the pesky ostrich who wanted a piece of cake sounds amusing. Having fun - yes I would say. Take are but enjoy. xxx
One for the GB of Records You may already have a comment from me for this blog which may have some jargon in the middle where I was adding to a sentence and then the whole thing vanished but if not then here we go again.
I think your trip to date has been well accomplished and informative and yet you have more to go and probably even more amazing sites to visit and show to us. Absolutely fantastic may I say so far and not finished as yet.
I think that the preserved children are spooky and I am not sure if I would want to see that.
Royal Mail do seem efficient when compared with the local post office in Humahuaca but only just. That woman must be in the Guinness Book Of Records at 800 years old, wow unheard of since biblical times or what!! The Tropic of Capricorn Line looks so much more interesting in real life than on a map - something I would like to see.
You must have enjoyed this bus trip especially the price. At last things are becoming cheap!! But the cheapest thing so far seems to be the free wine which keeps flowing from place to place. Speak to you soon. Love Mum Dad and Boys. xxxx
Stunning views and exciting treks Michael, some of these views are absolutely stunning and probably even more so in reality. Ben Nevis will never be quite the same for you now you have conquered Fitz Roy. Well Done. It sounds utterly amazing about the glaciers and I bet not only do they look more stunning than the photos but the sounds of the ice breaking and falling must be incredible. Another thing that needs to be seen to be believed. Wow! That is amazing that the snow breaking off takes 300 years to compact, form ice and sink to the bottom. I did not know that! How on earth will you outdo this trip. Take care and enjoy. Speak to you soon. Fantastic.
Lazy and active wine days Wow, Mike, what a lot of activities you have done since reaching Mendoza. White water rafting, drinking wine, kayaking, more wine tasting, attempted skydive and more wine... That wine would have been nice to send home or even the creamy chocolate!!! not a box of used travel books etc. Some of the pictures are stunning especially the one of Bariloche Centre which does amazingly remind me of Switzerland. Very clean looking. You must be a fully seasoned bus traveller now considering the length of all your journeys. The horse riding sounded fantastic - now that is the way to do it, unlike France!! Chunk sounds interesting. Speak to you soon. Love Mum xxx
WOW Hi
You dont know me but I'm going to South America in Feb next year. Your pictures and stories are amazing!
Do you mind me asking, will I be safe as a lone female in Rio? Paraty looks safer :)

Hey ... i found your blog back when you were in Rio, and have been following since, as you seem to be on the same journey i'm embarking on in October (Rio, Ilha Grande, Iguazu, Buenos Aires, Bariloche, Patagonia, Chile, Bolivia, Peru) ... Love reading all this; it's making my long days sitting here at my desk, waiting to hit the road a little more bearable!
Amazed at how quick you're doing it all, i was panicking that we only have 3 months to do ours - how have you found it, time wise?
Any hints or tips or general bits of info you feel you could have done with before you left, that you want to email, would be MASSIVELY appreciated!
Best of luck for the rest of your journey!
Nice Photos I love your photos thanks for sharing this. Hope one day I can also visit Latin America to personally see and experience all of these.

Stunning architecture You are right Michael (or should I say Charlie) the architecture in Buenos Aires is stunning - a very beautiful place. The Congress building looked superb as did the Pink Palace (I did not realise Madonna sang (when playing Evita) here although I did see the film) and even the cafe's architecture looked intricate and attractive. I always expect churches to have great architecture but once again very pretty. Your tango lessons sounded interesting as did the Milonga however I think the dance teacher was right to look disapprovingly at your flip flops - his description reminded me of Poirot atlhough yes I know - different nationality. Speak to you soon. Take Care but enjoy xxx
Not more meat Charlie!! I have to say the Uruguayan barbecue sounds gross!! All that meat - a bit like the Atkins Diet without trying. Punte Del Este looks beautiful especially the beach. Very mediterranean. I think you have been spoilt with Paraty although Colonia looked pleasant enough. The cars are amazing, is that what they do with old cars rather than scrap them or sell them on? You look well but what a weird sleeping position - I won't say what it reminds me of!! Take care, xxx
Fantastic photos The Iguacu /Iguazu Falls look utterly fantastic and I bet they looked a hundred times better in reality. I thought it was time to comment upon your blogs even though I initially read them all within a day of your writing them but I am reading them all again to comment on them today. It sounds like the Ben Nevis and Snowdon climbs were just training for all the climbs and treks you seem to have done so far on this trip, even if it is just to get to your hostel and Michael, eating chicken hearts - gross!!! Speak to you soon. xxxx
Those pictures are amazing Mikey! But 'I peeled myself off my sticky sheets' ? too mych detail perhaps :) Hope you've met some cool people along your way.

Idyllic or what? WOW - the uncomfortable journey to Ilha Grande certainly seems to have been worth it as the beaches are idyllic and seemed very peaceful and appeared to stretch on for some time. It is great that you were able to do some more diving and it must have been brilliant to dive down to the wreck. I think you are right in the sense you managed some cardio activity and relaxation all within this period. Well done! Paraty does look very pretty and Olde Worlde and I like the idea of no cars. Does that mean the air is cleaner as no pollution? Probably not ivory as you say but wood however a nice souvenir -lucky it was not a shark bite souvenir after scraping your hand...ouch.
Did you use your mega zoom lens for the pictures of the spider and crab as we all think you did not get that close!!!
Anyway looking forward to the skype tomorrow and as always, enjoy but take care.
Miss you.
Love from all. xx
WOW!! Hi Michael, well you seem to have packed so much into your first two weeks away. You seem quite the experienced traveller now after you previous 10 month trip and your writing has matured even more so since your publication. The Ipanema beach photo was fantastic and definitely looked like a beach I would love to be on. Copacabana looked brill too but I would be wary after what you said about it. Sugar Loaf mountain looks fantastic as do most of your photos - an excellent selection but yes you may have been best to have a wide angle lens but then that would only be more luggage. I cannot believe you went out partying on your first night after a 12 hour flight and such a bad one too!! Am pleased you are enjoying your trip. Did you play volleyball on the beach?? You probably need the exercise whilst not doing the gym eh?? Acai berry is very good for you so keep eating. Enjoy your trip but be safe! Love Mum, Dad and boys xxxxxxxxxx
