Suh-weet! Hi guys. I was just asking around to see if anyone had news of you. I'd hate to think you'd gone entirely native and weren't coming back. Those waves are something. They look perfectly regular, one after the other. We miss you and are looking forward to having you back around. Great pictures! Man, you guys look tough.
Pancho? Pancho looks like an anteater/hippo/pig/dog. I've never seen one of those things. I wonder what he evolved from or if other animals evolved from him? He looks rather friendly for an anteater/hippo/pig/dog. Was he someone's pet? Dinner to be? Great pics of the tarantulas, sloths, river otter, snakes, and yourselves. You both seem to be settling in quite nicely! I can't wait to here all of your stories when you get back. Awesome hair Bill! Nice catfish Mel! Peace...
Great to hear from you! Bill and Melanie,
It's great to hear from you again - I had no idea you were in Peru for the year. I would have sent a Christmas card to Cali - now I'll wait until next year. What a great experience for both of you! Please continue to send me your blog link as you update your journal. Enjoy your holidays! Love ya!
Alicia

Barry Manilow We enjoyed your recent entry. As soon as I read about your adventures in Copacabana I couldn't get the Barry Manilow sound out of my head. That's a little disturbing... All is good in Oregon, Ducks are fading and Beavs are back on the rise. Go Beavs!
Randy and Michele

Eddie.
Looks Fun! I am not sure I could score a 94% on an English test let alone Spanish. Looks like you are having a great time. I hope everything is going well. I know the students miss you and we need you playing basketball on Thursday nights. Take care..Kevin
One Semester of Spanish Bill,
Will you sing me the song??
Josie
Ha-Ha Bill and Mel! Thanks for the blogs...you're keeping us laughing even from Peru! It's great to see what you guys are up to. Take care, Michele
Missing you guys! Aw! We miss you both up here in the northland. Disc just isn't the same without you. I'm back for an 8th year of IMs, but it's a long commute from Davis. Lost out on a bid to nationals in masters last weekend, but had a blast anyway. Glad to see you guys are getting some quality board time. Maybe by the time you get back I'll have the place up in Mendocino ready for visitors. Going up there tomorrow to try to get the place sealed up for the rains. Take care!
Congratulations! Wow! 94%-- your students would be proud, Mr. Bergeron! Looks like you're having an amazing time down there; I'm super-duper jealous! Keep puttin' up the blogs because I love reading them!
Maybe Japan is Next? Masa, it is great to hear from you! I hope you are doing well! Melanie will continue with medical school when we return to Stanford in June 2008.
Thanks for the message!
Nesset Pissed Mel and Bill: man am I pissed. I miss traveling so much and am super excited that you guys are doing a travelblog. The surf here in Iowa has also been flat...you are never missing anything here. I've been helping Kirk alot at night and on the weekends and when we were out last weekend we were thinking about Aaaron and the harvest. I called him a few weeks ago with Kirk and mentioned if he was interested in any Iowa home games. He said then that he hoped to come visit the two of you so that would be really cool. In the comments you didn't mention if you guys are in a high rise and have 1 bedroom or 2....the reason I ask is that you know how I snore horribly (for when I come visit with Allie ;-)....
Anyway, I would also like to see more photos. Have fun, be safe and share some stories. -- Eric
Donde esta el playa? Hey Bill and Mel!!! Sounds like you're both making the best out of your time down there. Everything is a.o.k. up here. Surf has been FLAT, absolutely nothing so you're not missing much. School year has been great, Missy's loving the 2nd grade. Spartans are off to a rough start (lost the first 3 games, but won the last 2). Pac 10 is doing well (USC #1, Cal #3, Oregon #14, ASU #18) Haven't heard much from the Beav's though. The blog thing looks good. Keep updating with pics of surf (how many times have you been out so far? how's it compare to norcal? looks pretty similar). Bill keep up with your spanish. Mel, atta-way with volunteering, that was very nobel of you to do so.
Melanie is a 4th year medical student at Stanford University taking a Leave of Absence to do clinical research for a year in Lima, Peru. Bill is a middle school science teacher who is accompanying Melanie during this experience. ... full info
