Early brekkie, a couple of people were hungover - not me =) Got on the bus and it turns out we were waiting on one person - Naman!! He had slept in and was a little hungover.. whoops! Our tour guide is Christina. She's really nice and she's really passionate about history and geography. That's cool but then she tends to yap on a bit, and did this day on the 4-5 hour drive - the whole way! We also did a sort of get to know you thing. We swapped seats then had to find out a few things about the person we were talking to. We then went up the front of the bus and introduced them, as well as tell a story or dream of ours. On our drive, we went through deserts, ... read more

Slept in this day - and wrote my first blog =P Once up and showered I headed to the Anaheim Plaza with Mich and Lauren. We stopped at Macca's first - for brunch! It was at the plaza that I bought 3 tops for $10 US. That's approx $12.50 AU. Mum you have to come over here - you could shop to your hearts content. Pretty sure its because the US is in a recession... Yay for us! Got back to the hotel, went for a swim and met some more Contiki people. This was our last day before Contiki started, so we went back to our room, showered, dressed and went to a “Contiki meeting”. It was hardly a meeting - we just went in and signed a form with our passport number and emergency ... read more

Disneyland!!! Was an exhausting day! My feet were killing me from the day before wearing thongs (flip-flops... everyone laughs at you when you say thongs - stupid Americans and Brits =P), so it was runners for me this day. The Princess castle is quite disappointing.. It's tiny!! So much smaller than i thought it was.. In the way of rides, we went on Star Tours, Autopia, Space Mountain, Splash mountain, The other mountain who's name has escaped me.., Matterhorn Bobsleds, It's a Small World, Winnie the Pooh, Pirates of the Carribean (again - we had extra Contiki people), Jungle Cruise and of course, the Teacups! The fireworks display was incredible, complete with Tinkerbell and even Dumbo flying through the sky! We met a few more Contiki people here too, so our group was growing! At the ... read more

Free brekkie at our hotel which is cool - just go up and get whatever you want. So they provided our toast - I provided our Vegemite (Y). Headed off to Disney's California Adventure Park at around 9.30 or so. Throughout the day we saw plenty of different characters, but took photos with Mickey (twice, once in a California style shirt, second in a fantasia outfit), Goofy, the Incredibles, and Sully from Monster's Inc, We also went on a few rides including California Screamin', the Big wheel (which had either swinging or non-swinging gondolas), Grizzly River Run (got very wet!) and also the Hollywood Tower Hotel, a giant drop kind of ride with a storyline - based on the Twilight Zone. So basically you're in a lift in the hotel that goes up and down really ... read more

We woke up and looked out our window to see a whole lot of workmen setting up for a premiere. Turns out it was for the kids movie 'G-Force'. We had our Grand Tour of LA which was starting at 9.30am, so we headed over to Grumann's, via Michael Jackson's star. Because we were so early we could get a good look, any later and it gets so packed. Whilst waiting for the tour to start, I looked around at all the hand & foot prints, such as Hugh Jackman, Jean Simmons, Shirley Temple, Will Smith, Matt Damon and the only Johnny Depp! The Grand Tour started and the first stop was the Hollywood Bowl. We saw an opera rehearsal so that was kinda cool! On our way there we also saw the church Sister Act ... read more

After a massively long and uneventful flight, I had finally arrived in the United States of America!! Once I had finally gotten thru customs, i got out of LAX and kinda just stood for a minute before finding where my shuttle us was. It was weird.. Therre's one way traffic thru the airport outside, and it was all taxi's and shuttles and a few other cars.. And it was HOT!!! I found where my shuttle was to leave from fairly easy and only had to wait about 5 mins for it to arrive. Got on and spoked to some guys from Dallas, a girl from Melbourne (Northcote), and another guy originally from the UK, but who had lived in Melbourne for a year, studying at Monash in Clayton. So that was all very interesting. As we ... read more
