Meditation will help You will find your center again. The universe has presented you with several challenges and health problems. Hopefully, you can sit quietly and sort all of this out. We hope you've healed well and will continue to do those things you love.
everything changes, nothing is reliable, not me not mine Hi friends
I hope I was not sounding desperate at all... Please be assured that I practice the dharma and am able to embrace, let be, cease dhukka and walk the path daily... Of course with eyes open to my foibles and crazy mind wanderings etc etc.... I can tell by your comments that we walk the same path. That is reassuring... My blogs are a space where I reflect on the 'not me not mine' a lot... and watch the ego's attempt to rule the roost. Many thanks for your comments...
Plans... I always have a Plan A...helps with budgeting During my recent visit to Scotland I went to Plan B on the first day. I'm not sure how many plans I went through before the end of my trip.
So happy you are again writing... An Episcopal priest once said to me "Man plans, God laughs."
As I have gotten older, I have also found that I don't bounce as well as I used to: a fractured pelvis and minor(!) spine surgery attests to that. But for those of us blessed with the travel gene, even buying plane tickets for the next adventure is a balm for my soul. I can't wait to get back into an airport and all the promise (and chaos) that entails.
LIES, LIES & DAMN LIES Being a Christian in India, I know who is the aggressor and who isn't. You better change your name to Paul Joseph Goebbels since he seems to be your inspiration in spreading propaganda. I will give a point by point rebuttal to your claims.
1. Archeological evidence clearly shows the presence of Hindu Temple in the spot where Babri Masjid stands. There were 12 Hindu-style Pillars in the Mosque, even until its destruction in 1992. For more details, read KK Mohammed (Former Director, ASI) and you will even find pictorial evidence.
2. Memoirs of Babur, written by his court biographer mentions the destruction of a Hindu Temple near Sarayu River and construction of a Mosque on top of it. Do you think that the court historians of Babur themselves will lie about his exploits?
3. The riots in Gujarat were started because a radical muslim mob burned down a railway coach with 80+ Hindu Pilgrims in Godhra. It included women and children and all of them were burnt alive. It takes an biased b@$tard like you to brush this under the carpet and blame Modi.
All your comments are downright racist towards Hindus and the indigenous people of India. No wonder you're from Australia. Would you still be praising Muslims if they demolished the Vatican and built a mosque there? Just because you have been on a few bike rides in India, don't masquerade as a scholar and pass illogical judgements. Read and educate yourself.
And Hindus in India are the most tolerant people. No other civilization in the world has welcomed people from all faiths so open heartedly. They have a history of 3000+ years and don't need a certificate from you. Even during the world war, Polish Jews took refuge in India (Jamnagar). You're shamelessly spreading lies. Go read up and educate yourself and don't judge what you don't understand through rose-tinted glasses.
I can't even think about living as a Christian in any muslim state in Asia.
fair cop Selva ... I think you make some very good points and that I was not well informed on all points in the blog... Still, you need not be so insulting in your rebuttal. In any case thankyou for the comments as far as the detail on content goes. BTW I am not a Christian.
No apology needed It was great reading your old blog. FYI... if you hit quit publish it will update and not send it out to everyone. The blog had so much humor and reality. Thanks for sharing.
So impressive, mate. A long way from St Doms Hi Paul, I really enjoyed reading that account of your walk. Great to catch up with what you are doing after all these years since we sat together in 4 Blue.
4 Blue I have to be honest Doug... I don't recall your name... could be poor memory per se or just getting old? Well, anyway, not doing too much travelling since I got back from Spain a year ago.. for the obvious reason but also because I have been caring for my 93 year old mum back in Lawson (the family home) all this time .... It's a weird world and life... gotta roll with it. Where are you these day? .. drielsmapaul50@gmail.com
Books that have shaped you and your travels! Good to read about your latest travels Paul - Hope you are well and safe! It would be great to see a blog entry with a list of some of the books that have inspired you and your travels! Looking forward to reading more as always
in touch Hi Pradnya. I assume we have never actually met... just you came across my blogs? If that is not the case I apologise for my bad memory. I would be happy to open a discussion with you anytime... my email address is drielsmapaul50@gmail.com . _()_
Watching and doing not much The world is following in your footsteps of slowing down and learning to do the simple things together in isolation. The world needs to heal itself. You must become the path.
Slowing it down Nice thoughts my friend. Hoping you are keeping safe in these mad times. Tomorrow I fly back to Australia... 14 days quarantine then in my home... Hoping the world takes the time to stop and look hard at itself.
Take me to the mountain What a fabulous trek.............and yes, one step at a time always leads to extraordinary/ordinary. Thank you again for sharing the journey :)
Car Rental in India "This is a nice informative blog. I would definitely share it with my colleagues. And I hope you keep publishing the similar articles.
Thanks"
The Universe is Guiding You Evidentially, you need a new experience so the universe kicked you out of India so you could finally embrace all the beauty that is Morocco. We never tired of the mint tea. I'm sad you have to leave this area but feel like you will make it back.
