Croatia Wow, those places sound really lovely. Yes, you're right - only being there explains loveliness. Words are quite inadequate. We must add it to our list of places to go. Enjoy Italy, enjoy Venice. My cousins are one hour north of Venice at Portogruaro which is a lovely place to visit too.
Tonga/Split... We're in Split, Grant's in Tonga, you're in Cambridge so the world is ours really.
We're all well and enjoying the travel still. Leaving here tonight for Venice on an overnight ferry.
Lyn's Mum not good, gone downhill last few days so she is feeling very far from home.
Hope Grant is good.
Love from us all
Robin
Albania Hi to you all,
It's great travelling with Ozzie's, isn't it? We found that the tone of the place was much more relaxed in their company. At least you can relate to them easily.
As for Albania, well, that's somewhere different ...! But, apart from the infrastructure, the countries' affected by tyrants seem to manage to keep their culture together. Enjoy!
Greetings from Nuku'a'lofa Enjoying catching up with your travels - came to town today no internet or tv on the boat very peaceful Grant got a 92kg blue marlin on Saturday which was fgiven to the local village Living in luxury with a chef on board Grant staying another week Vicki goes home Friday to play Bridge on Sunday - priorities!?!
Bridge more important! Grant - please take that woman in hand. Get her out fishing or something.
Apart from that very nice to hear you have enjoyed the Kingdom of Tonga.
We off to Albania tomorrow so may be out of touch. Will inform you later.
All the best and love
Robin and Lyn
Corfu Corfu looks really interesting - maybe a visit one day staying at the Corfu Mare. :)
No, I don't see your blogs as negative - just honest. Dirt and rubbish is dirt and rubbish. You say it as you see it.
Have fun in Albania! We look forward to your views as they generally are negative.
At last caught up with the blogs Great to read about all your travels - really enjoyable morning for me catching up now that I have a vague idea of how this site works. Hadn't realised I had another place to log in to to get your updates. Love to U4.
Matching shirts Love the matching shirts. Move over Howard and Hilda.
Heat, dirt, litter, traffic, heat, crowds, hustle and general chaos seems to be the order of the day with hot countries. No wonder we think we live in Paradise. With the looming memorials to history it must seem that civilization gone backwards and not forwards. But always, there are great people amongst the hoards, eh?
Athens Sounds like you are making the most of every minute. We'd have done Degas and balked on the biking Rob. Like the photos with close ups of people. What's Danish beer like? Perhaps it is the factor that reduces their life-span. Off to buy paint for the lounge and empty Max on the sunny Saturday that has dawned here. B & G
Goodbye Scandinavia, hello Greece Hi there fellow Travellers,
It sounds like you had a wonderful time in Scandinavia - being well looked after by locals helps no doubt. We look forward to the blogs about another part of the world. Enjoy!
Gidday Neat to hear from you. The blog did not arrive at our email but Jaquie S forwarded it on to me, so we''ll see what happens from here. Have spoken to J and have still to make a time to look about your house but WILL do it next week.Love your sunhat Robin - are you really allowed out in public wearing that???? Pete
What's wrong with my sun hat? Hi Pete and Les
Hope you can pick up these musings through your own email. Pete, you would love Paleros - hot, clear, blue, refreshing Med. nude whatever, sailing, boating....... Not a lot to not like.
35 degrees here already at midday but we are next to pool with drinks being served as I speak.
Hope all is well with you both and the dog of course.
All the best
Ciao
Rob
Sweden Hey guys - you lucky buggers. Summer in northern Europe/Scandinavia while we shiver and shelter from the drizzle and freezing rain in Wellington (and hide under desks from time to time as earthquakes strike).
I have always wanted to try one of those Segways - never had the chance. they look really weird - and like they just shouldn't work.
I hope the camera is living up to expectations - really great to see the photos online.
Keep enjoying your trip and keep the updates coming.
Best to you both
Rob
Go ABBA! Hi Houses and Thorleys,
Wow, what look-alikes! Still looking great and svelt....... Looks like you had a lot of fun.
Yes, it's disappointing to see all the rubbish about in what should be lovely places. We too found footpaths with cracks full of dirt, weeds, chewing gum, and the usual Macs and Burger boxes.
28 degrees? Hot?
Enjoy the time and have fun.
Bimbro and wife Ignore the last message; we've managed to read some blogs. The photo's are a problem though, the top quarter is all we can see, that looks stunning though!!
xoxoxo

Testing your travellog It works, I managed to navigate in, anyway the adventure has already begun with sleeves up with farm work, running after the children and grandchild, being fogbound, torchlight walkabouts, it sounds like a ball already and great start to your adventure. Well take care and looking forward to the wonderful views and stories with envy.
We are Lyn and Robin - 60 and 70 something's - started traveling later in life when the kids were old enough not to care about where we were (in a good way).
Not adventure travelers but eager to see new places, meet people and enjoy new experiences.... full info
