I'm getting quite the professional at rolling onto the bus, falling asleep, having lunch and falling asleep again until our arrival, stoked on that. Had a mini/huge freak out  when when I realised the tour finished the 25/10 and not the 26th, which is when I booked the hostel from. Messaged a few girls I know who are in London though so everyone cross their fingers for me that I'll be able to crash on their floor, otherwise I'll be selling myself on the streets of London for anyone who's interest haha.  Anyway, today was Munich, it's pretty lovely here, though my so far nothings topped Paris (luckily I get to go back). Wonder the streets of Munich a little, bought a jacket because it was 6degrees and getting into the minuses at night (woo!!), some ... read more

Europe October 21st 2011

This morning I was up early for breaky, saw a chinaman steal boiled eggs that weren't for him and struggled with the coffee machine. They don't know what a  cappuccino, latte or flat white is in Europe so you'd think a coffee machine would be pretty simple to use ie. black or white, wrong! We did the classic Venice tourist move and went on a gondola ride, it was beautiful but the highlight was definitely spotting the DHL boat, imagine receiving your Black Milk and other goodies via that! Then we saw a glass blowing demonstration, amazing and of course the demonstration was followed by a gift shop. I got suckered in real bad and bought a ring for mum and I, luckily I love them because I saw similar ones for half the price of ... read more

Florence to Venice started out pretty average, because it was a relatively short drive we had until midday to explore. My one mission: boots. Mission complete (despite the pouring rain, thunder and lightening). Other than that the day was pretty much a four and a half hour drive/80% sleeping (have become pro at sleeping and avoiding travel sickness), hotel check in and dinner. I was ecstatic when we found out the hotel had a lift. Tip: travel with a backpack, bags are a pain in the arse, not to mention you almost dislocate your shoulder pulling them up stairs. ... read more

Florence, what can I say? After rolling onto the bus at about 7:30am this morning I slept for five or so hours of the seven hours we drove to avoid motion sickness, (managed to get two seats to myself which meant I could lay down-incredible!) We haven't really done much here, we went for a (rather boring but beautiful) walking tour and then had dinner at a stakehouse, I ordered pasta which was a bit of a let down, Italy step up your game. After this a bunch of us went to a bar/club, including me (shock horror to anyone who knows me). Alcohol is so cheap in Europe, I may just come home an alcoholic! I'm now about to run downstairs to post this (lobby is the only place with wifi) and then go to ... read more

Europe October 19th 2011

Hi all! So day three, we made the very long drive from Paris, France to Lucerne, Switzerland. We left at about 8am and arrived around 5pm, needless to say after sitting a next to someone for this long I was ready to fight my way to a single two seated the next day, I didnt care if i had to rip someones hair out, I was going to do it for that single seat. Though we didn't have much time there Switzerland was beautiful, we went for a walking tour, I bought a Swatch watch (purely to say I bought it from the motherland) and we had an incredible veg pasta dinner. Oh we also spent the night in 'jail hotel' which as the name suggests, is a former jail. Bit spooky, yes, though the amazing ... read more

Firstly I wanted to do this as a daily thing but the wifi gods seem to disagree with that idea.  So yesterday, started off with a driving tour, basically the tour bus battled it's way through the Paris traffic to such sites as The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, all the major site of Paris  etc etc. Then we were given some free time to explore the city of 'love'. A group of us went to the Eiffel Tower with the intention of climbing the stairs to the top. I bought a ticket to the third level but as anyone who knows me knows I'm terrified of hights, so I only made it to the first level before having my very dorky freak out/asthma attack. Erm, then we went and sussed out Notre Dame it was insanely ... read more

Europe October 16th 2011

This morning’s relaxing lasted about two hours before my aunt was in full panic mode about making the train to Paris. The train was caught, and with it came three hours of me time (something I’ve greatly missed since being here). Paris offered me a bit of everything; the smell of urine in the metro, an extremely drunken ‘homeless’ man telling me he wanted to take me dancing as well as a insanely handsome guy helping me with my 17kg bag down the stairs-chivalry is not dead ladies. Since I’m not so great with new people the two hour wait for the tour group (they apparently had the day from hell with one girl missing the bus and another being refused at the French border) was an anxious one. So far I’ve met a few lovely ... read more
