Me and chelsea had to checkout at 11 00 and had no idea what to do until 400 when we wanted to leave. We ended up going shopping (like we haven't spent enough money already) I finally got my black trench coat. yay. We went to this place EXKI i think it was. It was sooo good. I got creamy tomatoe soup and a veggie quiche and a chocolatee mousse thing...soo good. I love food in belgium haha When we got to the train station and were going up thte stairs the air was full with the scent of waffles. The smell of waffles will forever remind me of brussels. I wonder if it will be the same if I go back again. Will the small be as sweet? Will I recognize the streets? Will the ... read more

Our day started off by wishing farewell to fred, ben, and erin. The poor girl…off into the world with two guys lol.Chelsea and I began walking around the city again.Today was rather chilly…burrh! We walked all through the city again and chelsea had to be hating my life because I was making her speedwalk the wholeway. We went on our free tour of the Palace the king works at.He is there all year except for a month and a half when he's away they open it up as an exhibit. It was pretty good timing. While we were there we met up with the older couples who identified us in the market earlier. They were all from Easton, PA.How weird is that?"The more you travel, the smaller the world becomes."When we decided it was time for dinner I wanted to go back ... read more

We caught the bus into Belgium today after walking from the hotel to the airport parking lot and then hitching a free ride on the parking lot bus.The trip to brussels from charleroi only took about 35 minutes or so.It felt good to sit down.We got off the bus at the station and were totally, hopelessly and completely lost…in a country we don'treally speak the language…and we weren't even sure we were in brussels. Finally, I found an english speaking info station whereI found out exactly where we were; outside the city of Brussels. We would have to take a metro to get to the Youth Hostel. We got off the metro at Place Ch. Rogier K. Kogierplein.A man came up to us and said "Are you looking for the youth hostel, you're american's right?"I asked him if we ... read more

We made it here safe and sound. The flight was unbelieveable short actually. Right as we started to get into the magazine the pilot told us to prepare for landing. We were so excited. Our first trip flying solo. I booked...I paid...I was also stuck at the airport with nowhere to go for the night. My internet supposedly was connected but I coudnt'open a web page. I booked a place at the help desk at the airport for 45 Euros a night for the two of us...not too bad. We had to take a taxi here which killed us...15 euros for a two minut ride. We are walking back to the airport tomorrow to get a bus into brussels. We booked a hostel for sunday night but nothing for saturday..which is tomorrow.... ... read more

Chelsea and I met at Liverpool Station to get our train to Stansted airport. When we were walking to the train we were both very excited and a guy walking ahead of us turned and laughed us. Our first real "look at the american's look" When we sat down lo and behold, who's next to us but the very same guy. Since we are american's ant probably were being too loud he overheard us saying how we wished we had a place to stay. He helped us find a few hotels on his blackberry. He was very nice in a too nice kind of creepy way. But I think it was because we weren't expecting someone to be so nice. We got into the airport, checked in through security and to our gate in under half ... read more

Last night Me and a bunch of the girls from my building went salsa dancing. The club we went to has free entry on Monday nights.FREE!We met up with my friend heidi's friend mike and his two friends. They were all from australia. It's such a small world because the one guy used to work in Walenpaulpak(sp? )and he lives in Perth which is where my other friend from Australia is from?it's funny how small the world really is the more places you go and the more people you meet. They kicked us out of the club about1am.Turned the lights on and told us all we don't have to go home but we can't stay here haha. This morning we had to wake up extra early to meet Daniel. There's a three day strike going on in the tube so we ... read more

i officially finished all of my moving in everything today...I think. I moved things around my room so I had a little more room, and I feel set at home. I finished all my grocery shopping which took up way too much money. So after going grocery shopping by myself I made dinner for myslef. I decided on Pasta Primavera. I found a healthy recipe and made sure i had stuff to make it (which I did if i added and took out certain things) Unfortunately my oven didn't work ( I know you don't have to bake Pasta Pri. but I wanted to for a little becuase i think it makes things taste better) But it turned out delicious. Everyone asked where I got the pre-made meals from...I cooked them :) It felt good to ... read more

they took us to a Hindu Mosque. it was so intricate and beautiful. We were there for a service. It was definitely different than aything else I have ever experienced. After that wew etnt to St. Paul's Cathedral. We climbed the 464 steps to the top to see the best view of London. It was absoultely breathtaking. It was a workout though. That's for sure. Me and Heidi have been making friends EVERYWHERE...the weird thing is that they are all from the states...California, New York, and some girl here on an intern for CNN here. ... read more

Daniel (our guy that lives in london and works through the school to kind of be here for us) sent us on a city -wide scavenger hunt. We had to run around and take pictures with The National Art Gallery, statues of people, find St. James Tower and about ten other things like that. It was so much fun but until the end we were all tired and cranky. It was definitely an amazing way to get us comfortable with the city and the underground. After the London Scavenger Hunt, the school treated us to see Wicked. It was soo good! I didn't know the story behind it and was surprised the whole time! IT was definitely amazing. ... read more
