Day 9 The Anatara Lawan resort provided the most spectacular breakfast spread one could ask for... Smoked salmon, waffles, banana pancakes, eggs florentine, a variety of delicious cheeses, juices, smoothies, and more... All of this overlooking a turquoise tinted ocean. It was a little slice of heaven and this is how we started our day. After eating everything we could, we went for a long walk into town for some light shopping and a foot massage. It was starting to get really hot outside, so we knew we had to get to the ocean to cool down. We ventured down the shore and stumbled across a beachfront hotel called "Akbar" where we rented an umbrella, bought a piña colada, and played in the ocean. We were making right decisions. After hanging out with what kemper thought ... read more

Day 8 Eager to get to the gulf side of Thailand we booked a 9am flight from Phuket to Ko Samui. After a fab night of sleep at Karens place we woke up early to head to the airport. Karen offered to give us a lift so we planned to leave round 7:30am to get to the airport with enough time to spare. Around 7:15am there was no sign of karen. Her door was shut and no sign of life yet. Knowing that she had just traveled home from a long trip to the states, we assumed she was still sleeping. Oh god, what to do? Now, we just met karen and were not 100% comfortable waking her up but we didnt want to miss our flight. So we knocked on her door. Nothing. Kemper knocked ... read more

Day 6 We started our day early per usual. Kemper wasn't feeling 100% but being the trooper that she is (and fear of missing out) she was determaned to power on. We decided to walk over to the much talked about Tham Phra Nang cove. The path way to get to the beach was breathtaking in is own. It felt like we were walking through a limestone cave that opened up into a fairytale beach. Minutes after we arrived the beautiful blue skys turned dark and a cool breeze picked up. The weather felt perfect. For the first time in a week we werent sweating. We sat on the beach to take in all the beauty. We agreed this is by far the most beautiful place we have ever been. (pictures can't do it justice). Without ... read more

Day 4 Time to leave Bangkok and head down south to Railay beach. We checked out of the Muse hotel, which was a great hotel apart from the possible homicide or kidnapping that illedgedlly didnt happen on our floor. It was time to put on our bathing suits and soak up some sun. Bus to airport Small Plane (with the help of some anxiety meds) to Krabi Bus from Krabi to Ao Nang Peir Long tail boat to West Railay beach The boat dropped us in the middle of the ocean (thigh deep) so after a wet walk/swim to shore we had arrived. With half the day still remaining we quickly checked into our room and ventured off to explore what Kemper thought was an island. We took a quick 10 minute walk through the jungle ... read more

Day 3 Rub a dub dub while relaxin in the tub. What a wonderful morning for Lindsay to wake up at 5amagain. Unwilling to disturb Kemper she works quietly on her computer in the dark corner of the room. Kemper eventually rolls over and notices that once again she is sleeping and potentially missing out on something. She jumps out of bed some mediocre excitement that nobody was buying. Lindsay suggested that since they were both sick and not fully recovered that they take it easy today. "What if we have a Spa Massage Crawl" We have both tried a bar crawl in the past but neither of us have ever stumbled from one massage place to another until we can hardly stand anymore. Seemed like a great challenge and would help our goal to rest ... read more

Its 5am and the streets of Bangkok are silent, the room is dark, and nothing can be heard but the oh so familiar soundtrack of kemper's snoring echoing the room. Lindsay is wide awake. it's slightly creepy how awake she is this early, but she's ready for action. Lindsay softly whispered to Kemper that she was going to the roof to watch the sunrise. Her intentions were to give her a subtle warning of her absence so she wouldn't be alarmed when she woke up and Lindsay was gone. Kemper jumped out of bed happy as a jay bird and ready to get the day started with her... Not the reaction Lindsay was expecting or prepared for. Kemper doesn't like to miss out on things. So we headed up to watch the sunrise, enjoyed a delightful ... read more

Here we are 20 hours later... We landed in Bangkok. Thank god for upgrading to Elite class on the plane, it would have been an even Rougher flight. Between the two of us we coughed, sneezed, and blow our noses in even waking moment. We were a flights worst guess. By the time we reached Bangkok Kemp was in a really bad place... Nausea, exuhastion, headache, sinus presher, etc. Now we are finally in the taxi heading to our hotel (muse). Now the beauty of Bangkok is all around us. Lindsay is like a kid on Christmas morning, peering out the window, smiling with excitement, and taking in the new destination. I mean there is a lot going on outside this taxi. Meanwhile, inside the taxi kemp is sawing logs and in her own way couldn't ... read more

This might be the shortest blog yet..... Probably because kemp and I are sitting in elite class and about to take off and kemp is too busy ordering special meals and figuring out what wines they are serving. She is feeling pretty comfy. she may or may not have airline sippers on with sock and crazy pants. kemper here... Updating you on Lindsay's dedication to play words with friends with her grandma before take off. The upgrade was a serious must. We are both happy with this choice, as is the guy who would have been stuck between us back in coach. We had a pretty garlic heavy dinner. Okay.. It's time. Devices must shut down and we are officially Thailand bound. See you in Thailand!... read more
