Self drive
Nothing like a solitary acacia to evoke African scenery. With a tour guide you can keep in touch with other guides to know the current location of game. Did you feel disadvantaged in this respect with your self drive or was the freedom an overwhelming advantage?

Hi Dave, very good point raised (as usual) and one of the reason why we still took a guided tour the 2nd day. Now, having seen both (self drive vs guided one), would say that in both cases info comes from other people you cross; guide don't have radio & there is no mobile phone signal in most places so they do the same as us, slow down when you see another car and ask :-) worked pretty well ! Thanks for the comment about the tree, a special one indeed ! Arhh Africa

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
I read your blog and drooled over all these beautiful photos this morning. All I can say now is, I think I want to sell all of my possessions and take my kids on safari. We did something similar in Kenya before kids, but now I want to take them to experience all of this wonderfulness. Thanks so much for this tantalizing entry!

Indeed a perfect place for kids !
And you might not even have to sell your possessions ! The canvas suite like the one we got has an extra convertible bed so if you are a family of 4. you are looking at 130/night, a real bargain :-)

Started a new life chapter in 2009 and loving it! Bye Bye China (since 2003) and the world of Communication and welcome to the Humanitarian world! Where?
