As there are less readings and class this week, I have been having a difficult time figuring out how to organize my journal. I decided to rely more on my senses to explore the plethora of structures and while taking in the history and culture of Rome. The last time I came to Rome, I walked past these monstrous buildings and gazed at the statues, but didn’t know anything more than what the guide book told me. The guide book has about 3 sentences to tell you what the authors think is most important about each site, so you usually hear when it was built, who built it, and another sentence about why.
