Geo: 22.33, 114.18 Slept in today, breakfast at 9am. Pio not well today so decided to stay in bed to get better. We headed off for Stanley, no problems catching ferry, very easy & straight forward. Had great difficulty finding the bus, we knew we had to catch bus #6 or 6A, but couldn't find. Eventually after finding depot & bus, couldn't ride as we didnt have correct change, needed $25 exactly . We gave up and caught a taxi which was very easy & quick.Looked around market stalls, plenty good clothing, prints etc, purchased bags, scarves & shirts. Had some mango slushies, sat along promenade.Returned via the 260 express bus, although it cost $31, cant work it out?? Back to hotel to check on Pio, much better now. Geo: 24.5823, 73.6882 Leisurely breakfast today, leave 8.30am for lake crossing then walking tour of Gardens of the Maids of Honour, lovely garden with fountains. Garden of maids was built from 1710 to 1734 by Maharana Sangram Singh for the royal ladies. Then walked the streets & laneways (bit scary) to the Jagdish Temple.City Palace. The Jagdish Temple is raised on a tall terrace and was completed in 1651Daily devotion happening so crowded, chanting & noisy. Then to City Palace complex, huge palace, actually several family palaces joined together over the millennia. Geo: 24.5823, 73.6882 Breakfast & depart 8am for Udaipur, stopping at souvenir shop on way. Stopped at roadside to watch oxen driven grinder for sesame seed oil. Then lunch at Ranakpur Nature Resort for soup lunch. Nice soup & cuppa. Then to Shri Ranakpur Jain Temple, all marble with 1444 columns. Leave our leather & food on bus so as not offend their beliefs. All columns & domes exquisitely carved, very impressive, monks & priests walking around. Local legend has it that Dharma Shah, a local Jain businessperson, started construction of the temple in the 15th century following a divine vision. The temple honors Adinath, the first Tirthankar and founder of the Jain religion. Then travel the greener hills, slow drive over the mountains arriving Udaipur at 4.30pm. Dropped off at lake for cruise across the ... read more

Geo: 26.2816, 73.0232 Up early for 8am departure to tour Jodhpur. Visit white marble mosque, Jaswat Thada. Stunning marble with view to Fort, shoes off. Then to Merangah (Majestic) Fort, up the lift to upper palaces with stunning chambers & rooms. Most chambers are original or renovated, so stunning. Plenty to see including pinjas (elephant saddles) & parasanes (seats carried for royalty). Built around 1460 by Rao Jodha, the fort is situated 410 feet above the city and is enclosed by imposing thick walls. We found this fort the best we have visited mostly because the rooms were so lavish and had plenty of original furniture & features. Then to quick lunch, pizza & fries, Rob still taking it easy. After lunch visited a Textile warehouse, exquisite bed coverings & scarves. Purchased some Doona Covers here ... read more
