my family are planning to go to palawan this coming august to celebrate the 7th b-day of my son. however, despite of the assurance of my agency, i am quite worried of bringing my youngest daughter age 1 year old at the underground river, i just want to know if it's safe for infant?
Lovely place On hols from the UK I stayed in the caravan park on the eastern side of the island . Great park and very clean.
While boarding I was shore dumped and suffered slight concusion, and a sore neck and bleeeding nose. The lifeguard Paul did some great first aid on me and recovered me to the surf station.
Prior to this I found Bribie to be a brilliant beach and with some good waves. A great beach well guarded so if they say get out, then I ll take their word for it. Have recovered well.
RE: Batangas Hi Rob and Lorenza ! ... I wish I have an extensive info. to share with you about Batangas. But unfortunately, I only spent 2 days there mainly visiting family friends. To be honest, there's not really much things to do in Batangas. It takes about 3 hours to get there from Manila and spending a day at the Matabungkay Beach is more than enough...Your upcoming trip to the Philippines will be more memorable and delightful if you visit the remote islands instead...(I guess it's really a personal preference). Have a safe and happy journey !...Cheers!
Hi Cherrie... There are 5 people in our group so they charged us 1000 pesos each for the Honda Bay tour....lunch and snorkelling gears are included in the package. I'm not sure how much it's going to cost you with the Underground River tour though. We booked a package holiday with Philippines Airline which includes return flight, transfers, accommodation at Hotel Fleuris and a day tour to the Underground river with lunch included (cost - 11,500 pesos per person).....Have a safe and happy trip !...cheers !
Snorkelling details Thanks for all the info on Palawan. My husband and I are going to PPS in October. May I know the cost of the Honda bay island Hopping tour - snake and starfish islands?how much is the rent for a snorkelling gear?how much is the underground river tour?does it include lunch?thanks
Palawan Tour Info Hi Tish...Don't worry too much....it's fairly safe....if your kids and elders can wear the required life-jacket and helmet for safety procautions then I don't see any problem....The underground river tour (the short one) only went for about 45min. return (I think)....The most popular islands I'll recommend on the Honda Bay Tour are Snake Island and Star Fish Island....make sure you take your kids snorkelling...it's an experience of a lifetime they'll never forget.....have a safe and happy trip !....cheers ! :>
Additional info Hi! Liked your photos. Our family is planning a trip this June to Palawan but we are only staying for 2 nights. Hope you can share additional info - For your Honda Bay Tour - Do they go to all the islands or can you request the guide specific islands? What Island do you reco that is safe for kids ( 6-10) and elderly (70's)? For the Underground river - How long was the underground river trip? Do they allow kids and elderly ( same age group as above)?
Thanks.
Hi, i've been to snake island last april, for a for seminar, on our last day
nag island hopping kami, and nagpunta ka sa snake island, i can assured
na it is one of the beautiful beaches na napuntahan ko, ang linis, talagang
you can really see fishes because of the clear water, and ang place na
where saan kami ng seminar talagang it's so clean, and all the people in
palawan are very hospitable and so kind, especially the san jose people
so it you want a place where you can relax and appreciate the beauty of
beaches and a very clean city, visit Puerto Princesa in Palawan
Hi Beng... Sorry for the late reply....But I'm afraid that it is not advisable to take an infant into the underground river tour as it not 100% safe. There's a risk of falling off the boat or stalactites and debris falling on people's head. Tourists are usually required to wear a life-jacket and helmet as a safety precaution. Have a safe and happy trip !...cheers !
To Mel... Hi Mel...We stayed at Marco Vincent Resort. The resort is fantastic...very clean, comfy and safe !...sorry for not replying a lot sooner as I was in hibernation from travelblog for a while....cheers !
hi there! I just want to ask if infants are allowed for the underground and honday bay tours, I have a 4 month old baby and we just came home in the phils. for a visit.
so proud... i am so glad that a person like you who is still proud of where you came from warms my heart. Like you being born in the Philippines but brought up in another country but still manage to be proud of where i am from...i hope that you inspire many people who turn their back in our country...
How was the resort? My friends and I are planning on staying there and was wondering how was the room? Comfy? Clean? A reply will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks! Thanks for the wonderful post. I admire how much you love travelling the Philippines despite being based now in Australia (? - not sure about this). Anyhow, keep it up! Enjoy our country! Aliw ako sa jokes ng mga kababayan ntin! Panalo! Haha!

Palawan vs. Hundred Islands Hi Hanns....I wish I could compare the two, but unfortunately I haven't been to The Hundred Islands. I heard it's also a must-visit place. I'm puttling it on my list !....cheers !...johanna
