The new museum looks/sounds great!! As I said above, I would love to see the new museum, and hope to in the near future. As to the Parthenon.....they were repairing that building when I was there in late 90's!!!! The Greeks do not ever get in a rush to get anything done.......!! Chuck....you did look like you were puffing a bit going up that incline. Tooooo much good food on the ship??? HAHA!! Enjoying this blog to the max.....thanks!!!!!
Just wait until Pompeii.... Your pictures are wonderful!!!!!!! They do remind me of ruins of that period that we have seen in Jordan and Italy, not to mention those around Greece. But....do do everything you can to go into the museum at Pompeii where they have the casts of the spots where the citizens were living and they had all been covered by lava and ash. When the place was found once again, the poured a plaster-like substance into the strange shaped holes and when they chipped away the lava, they realized that people had been in those holes were in all sorts of positions fighting off the lava. Anyway.......a great looking ship and facilities!!!! More later.....ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!! Great post.....great philosophy!!! Marsha and I never felt in any danger at all when we spent the three weeks in Egypt and Jordan. Everyone, especially the Egyptian common people were sooooo friendly and appreciative of us for visiting their country. And, John....when it comes to religion, you and I are on the same page, the same paragraph, the same sentence!!! If you see this.....CONTINUE to CELEBRATE this GREAT DAY....YOUR DAY!!!!
Turkey I was happy to learn more about the area. Son Jim was there and Greece. Problem 20 years ago. I suppose you know son, Jim Murray, died of a brain tumor 4 years ago. Thanks for your reports.
GREAT and GREEN!!!! How great it is to see these photos, read about these fabulous places, and know that you are seeing all of these places just the way I would be seeing them, which only makes me turn an even more vivid shade of green!!! Keep writing, keep taking photos, and keep have these new adventures!!!! Each one of these adventures that you will remember through this blog will only make you soooo hungry to do this kind of trip again.....and again.....and again!!!! Remember: Life is too short to stay in one place!!!!
I am a music teacher nearing retirement. I want to see the world and journal the experiences as I go. Feel free to peruse the photos and stories. ... full info
