Hope Cesca is better!
amazing, so much for so called "third world countries" and healthcare. Tell Cesca, I hope she feels better and to drink a lot of water. Hugs Cesca, Michelle

the dog
we didn't watch them doing the actual killing, but it is done as humanely as you can when butchering an animal. they were singeing the fur off while sario and cesca watched. but when it's cooked you can't tell what it is. we had some last night with my great nephews and it tasted just like really tasty beef stew.

Just my grandfather
My grandfather was also a migrant worker from the Philippines working the fields of the Central Valley of California and up the Oregon and Washington orchards, sometimes ending up in Alaska in the canneries. However, he was not tricked by unscrupulous growers to board a ship to America. Instead he was a stowaway on a passenger ship hiding in the engine room.

wonderful photos
It must be so amazing to meet family and see your family name displayed and its normal. I am totally living vicariously through your journal and pics. This is awesome! So glad you got to see your brother while he is still here. I experienced this myself and it fills your heart to find family and know that you are not alone in your motherland.

This is really helpful
Hey Girls, This is really helpful! I didn't know you had to do all this to travel. But hip me to where you got the mosquito stuff and what its called. I brought a mosquito net to St. Maarten to put over the 4 poster bed. Why did I look up and all the bugs were INSIDE the damn mosquito net withme! So I sprayed my Avon super SSS stuff all on the inside of the net and on me and still got all bit up! My girlfriend from Trinindad wants to go to St. Thomas but says the mosquitoes there are killer! So I gotta get some stuff so I don't come back looking like I got chicken pox. Triclosan, bad stuff, check your toothpaste. Agree about the meat and contamination. Vinegar and salt have been used for years to store and cure meat especially on ships and in colonial on up times. I think parboiling also killed a lot of bacteria and any parasites in meat. I bet the octopus was good. did it smell like Chitlins? Love the smell of chitlins cuz I know what its gonna taste like... ummm good! This is great, keep writing!
