Today was a very sad today because this is my last in Germany before I have to get back to reality. The bright side of it all is that I can finally sleep in my bed tomorrow :D! First I went to the Hard Rock Cafe near the Berlin Zoo. Luckily I was able to find it this time around. I had the very delicious meal there, probably the biggest burger I ever seen, It kept me full most of the day. I was also able to pick up my bears as well so I'm happy about that. After I did some souvenir shopping around the area then had a latte at the Zoo station. The I headed to Central station and Alexanderplatz to finish up my shopping. I noticed an emailed from Air France, which ... read more

Sometimes in life thinks don't go your way and sure didn't (Not that I'm complaining to much, I had fun anyway). This morning I decided to go to the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch and to pick up a couple of bears for my collection. So I jumped on the U-Bahn to Zoologischer Garten. When I got their, I followed the map to see where it was but I couldn't find it. I don't think the map was clear on where it was, (although after looking up where it was I found that I was on the wrong street). After walking for a bit, I got fed up and went somewhere else. I actually didn't go to a particular destination but I took the S41 where, along with the S42, goes around in a ring. I ... read more

Today I had great time as I discovered things that I thought did not exist. First I visited the East Side Gallery to view what is left of the Berlin Wall. The paintings on it were absolutely beautiful, shame I didn't stay too long because it started to rain. Since it started to rain, I took the U-Bahn back to Unter Den Linden to go to Cafe Einstein just to chill out. While I was there, I had a latte in either a glass or hard plastic cup which I have never seen before. I also had some cheesecake which wasn't the best. I stayed about an hour. After doing some souvenir shopping, I head south to Potsdamer Platz and the Sony Centre where I found a movie theatre that played movies in English! So I ... read more

Today was my first full day in Berlin, so I decided to do some exploring. First I headed to Alexanderplatz which was a short U-Bahn ride away. I walked around and did some shopping. Found some birthday presents for some siblings who's birthday is coming up or it's today...oops :O! While walking I stumbled upon two guys who performed the song about poop and thez even had a sign. I found it pretty amusing. After, I headed to Unter Den Lindon which is a boulervard with all the posh hotels, cafes and souvenir shops and some attractions. I also saw the Brandenburg Gate which was built in the 18th century as one of Berlin's city gates. The Berlin Wall used to run along in front of it and became a symbol of divided Berlin .and the ... read more

Today was a travel day from Munich to Berlin. So after breakfast and checking out I headed out across the street to the train station to catch my train. I was just over 2 hours early becausse I had to check out by 10am so I checked out early since there was nothing else I needed to do. While waiting, I sat around in Starbucks drinking an expresso to wake me up, eating a fruit salad and reading a book. While I was doing that, a German women came up and asked, (in german), if she could sit down, (I was sitting at a table with two other chairs). So I told her in english that the seat wasn't taken and she said thank you and sat down. After when she finished what she had, she ... read more

Today was not as exciting as yesterday but I still had fun, (that's what counts right?) After getting lazy self out of bed I went to the post office to mail a postcard and a couple of packages of books I owed to some people on a book-trading site. When I sent them off I was surprised how cheap to send everything. It came up to €13 ($18.55 CDN). Back home it could of cost me between $50-$60 CDN (€35-42 depending on the weight). I think I'm going to complain to Canada Post for their outrageous prices, way, way to much to pay for send packages. Ok...I should get back on track. Anyways, after the post office, I head to the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch and to pick up a couple of bears for my ... read more

What an interesting and tiring day. After going to bed early and waking up early, (aka Jet Lag), I took the S-Bahn to Marienplatz, a very beautiful square which has a very cool neo-gothic town hall and it has a glockenspiel which is a mechanical clock. It has some little show at 11 and 12 supposedly but I missed it when I got there. Before, when I wasn't sure which train to take on the S-Bahn, a nice german showed me which one to take. After chilling at a cafe I walked around and did some souvenir shopping on my to the Residence Museum. I brought myself a new purse and a postcard. I got another postcard to send home and a snowglobe for my little sister. I stay away from some of the other shops ... read more

My first trip of the year and it almost turned into a non-trip. I left yesterday night for Munich but before that I was doing some last minute packing and stuff. So when I went looking for my passport, I noticed that it was not in it's usually place. I looked around to see if I put it somewhere else. Still didn't turn up so I started to panic and freak out, (I was tired and had finished a school assignment the night before and didn't get much sleep). I moved furniture to see if it fallen somewhere, nope. I even went to the school library to see if it was there, no. I was balling my eyes out because I was so looking forward to this trip. Luckily I found in in the least likely ... read more
