Guadi You're right; Gaudi was definitely a weirdo. He was dirt poor most of his life and he actually died in the street, dressed in rags and deathly-thin. For a long time people thought he was just another dead bum...:-)
I love how, as your time winds down and you become a bit homesick and nostalgic, you go back to your roots:
Impatience...
"...they were a lot more trouble than they were worth and patience isn't exactly my virtue..."
and supreme nerdiness...
"...Bragging rights: our protein purification results in one experiment were used as model data for groups that did not get sufficient purification...."
It'll be good to have you back!
Aside from the general love I've developed for hearing about your amazing travels, I love how you always take care to include proper names with proper spelling and accents from the places you go. I think that really does them an honor - most Americans wouldn't bother. You're turning into quite the traveler.
DNA earrings? I hope you had fun struting your stuff with Archetypal DNA Jewelry hanging from your ears, I sure would. LOL did you step on the grass at KIngs I would have just for a reaction JK....well maybe but thats just me. ;) I liked your other blog as well I commented on it but I think I forgot to put my name on the thing so anyway it was me.
I dig the pics Huong I have to say you took some very comical photos while you where in the bath. I was thinking you would have sung "Total Eclipse of My Heart" though but I guess it was for the best that you didnt. Anyway I have to go read your other blog now so goodnight.
Hmmm OHHH and AWWWW Well Huong I think we should be abducted by aliens and then make a tv series off of our adventures and become rich. I will have to get on that.
Hahaha! Such a funny post!
Cookie = digestive. Is that cookie like dessert, or cookie like internet bread crumbs on your computer? Either way, that's weird.
Also, why are you almost always on the far right in the pictures? My theory is that, after your pick-pocketing experience, you've started packing heat and you need fast access to your piece. Yes?
"I remember learning in high school physics that the pressure exerted..." Nerd. :-)
Oh, all your descriptions of all the places you visited made me miss London! I want to go back...
Beautiful description, again, fitting for what seems an incredible weekend. Can't wait to hear about it.
See some sites for me! Cheers... (I saw you were trying to get in the habit of saying it, so I thought I would help you out.) Pictures are great and you explain everything so vividly, It's like we are there with you. It is good to see you are experiencing so much and having fun in the process. Hope your studies are going well...(have to say that for your parents sake). Miss you... oh and .....CHEERS! Nikki, John, Amber and Alex
Huong,
This entry was so beautiful! I can tell you were inspired by all the beauty of Amsterdam, but your description has to be just as good!
I felt like I was there, which I think is the whole point of a blog. Well done, my European friend!
I'm so glad you're having such a rewarding time; we have lots of talking to do, I wager.
Nice post...I was interested in one thing in particular, as you can imagine. Seems nice enough, I guess, though I'm not sold yet...:-)
Somebody misses you and Adele...
scary guy u remember the Scary Guy from ur frosh (and my sixth grade) yr, he came to assemblies... well, the "scary" thing i found about him is that he came from a place that helped fire up his anti-discrimination methods even more: Macalester... then four years after seeing him, you came into that same school...
Huong, thanks for putting pics up of your school and your room! Haha, your desk is bigger than your bed, you must be able to organize so much! Thank you for keeping us all up to date, I love reading about all your experiences and seeing all the pictures. Stephanie and I were discussing how it makes us feel really antsy to travel, after reading all of our friends' blogs!! Talk to you soon, Cheers!! :)

Great blog entry Huong,
What a great blog entry - you really covered a lot of ground already and I can hear the bubble in your voice (or is it the English Pub Syndrome) as you speak about your first adventures. Thanks.
Bill Leahy
