Hi to you two travellers!
Saw you two on TV again last night - one minute talking to Rar Martin,, the next hugging each other on the pebbles on the beach - talk about a pair of celebraties. You looked great and so does the weather. Keep enjoying the experiences. Love Sue & Richard one minute talking to Ray Martin, the next being filmed with Mabel on the peddles on the beach - talk about a pair of celebrities! You looked great and the weather also looked good

We will be with you both tomorrow as we watch the Dawn Service at Gallipoli. We will remember your grandather and our own relatives from WW2. Perhaps we will see you laying your wreath. The Village is having an Anzac Day breakfast and some of us are going to the Mornington Dawn Service. Much love from home, Heather and Kevin

In Our Grandfather's footsteps
As I sit today with Mum and read your blog about your epic journey in our father's/grandfather's footsteps, we both have tears streaming down our cheeks, your descriptions, photos and the entries from his diary are making it so real for us, so many memories for Mum of her Father. I can remember Grandma sitting crying every time she heard The Last Post, how emotional it must be over there. My grandchildren are also very moved by the story emerging and the history of their great great grandfather, so they are going to have lots of questions when you come back. I also made the comment to Mum that after reading the stories & the pictures you are painting in our minds that I realize how very fortunate the students that you have taught all these years are, that they have someone that can help them see how the world really is and bring it to life for them, with so much love and care. Thank you for sharing this amazing journey with us back home. Love & prayers to you both from Aunty Lesley & Judi

After reading your wonderful blog, I do have tears running down my face and feel very choked up, it brings up thoughts of your grandfather and his mates and what they had to endure during those terrible times. The excerpts from his diary are now so real you are walking in his footsteps. Lest we forget.

So glad everything is going so well for you both. I have a new routine involving getting up in the morning and immediately checking to see your latest blog! Your descriptions are wonderful and, no doubt, the excitement must be building with only a couple of days to go now. Feels a bit like that here too actually. Your Grandpa would be so proud of what you are doing!

The wonderful story of this area as told in this blog and the manner in which our soldiers fought not only the the enemy of the day but the appalling conditions continues to enthral us and makes us realise how fortunate we are to live in relative peace today.

Wonderful descriptions
Jan, you make the whole place come alive, with your descriptive writing. Once there it is easily seen how impossible the mission would have been. Incredible that they just didn't give up and retreat. That is the testament to their unbelievable courage.
