Etrop Grange
We stayed at Etrop Grange in March, it was being renovated at the time, all the staff were lovely, the food was great but the room was terrible. We had an older guy called George picking us up from the airport, he was nice and carried out bags up the stairs while we checked in. Wouldn't go back there though, we normally stay at the Clayton it's got better rooms and plumbing you don't have to persuade gently to work ?

The unanswered question
Fabulous blog, thoroughly enjoyed reading it. There's just one question that remains unanswered... Did the cough medicine and lozenges bought in Malaga do the trick? Did T to escape G's throat infection? (Ok that's two questions, but they have the same answer.)

Double deckers?
I've not seen double decker tender boats before. All the ones I've been on were the ships life boats being put out to earn their keep. I'm guessing these double decker tenders must have been provided by the port or a handling agent.

re Tenders - Yes all correct - Norwegian Epic of course has many lifeboats for the 4500 & 1500 crew at maximum occupancy - These are deployed by Epic at non tender ports albeit rarely.

Could not use balcony as Transatlantic crossing was cold. Balcony rooms are bigger than a normal internal stateroom. We will be using balcony rooms from now on.

We are George & Theresa. We took early retirement at the end of 2010 and intended to spend an extended time travelling. First we visited our favourite location of Tenerife where we intended on staying for three or four months and possibly buying a property ready for our finally settling down. We have enjoyed our time here in Tenerife so much we have bought a property and have decided to change our travelling plans.
