Re: flight in the Stearman One is still available for rides at the Canadian Aviation Museum in Ottawa. You often see it flying around the city in the summer.
Wow!! Incredible what a million dollars could do; that amount must have been almost mythical back then!! Kind of sad that after their decades of hard work, 11 foot thick and 32 foot tall walls that it was all for naught in the end :( Very cool historical landmark today though!
Incredible models! I can't even imagine how many hours of painstaking work went in to recreating those beauties- that being said, I'd have to say that my favourites are the scrimshaw carvings and the photo of you at the end :)
Sharing the bounty Fred - the fact that these pictures were so obviously photographed with a great deal of skill and care, it begs the question that you, who might have already done so, might want to contact someone from the location of these photos and inquire as to whether they would be interested in including some of them into their existing collection? I could see where some of your photos could displace some of theirs.
Hi, everyone. I am a retired Canadian senior, living in Ottawa. My dear wife Margo and I used to love to travel just about everywhere, especially as “snowbirds” in the winter. Although we can no longer travel for medical reasons, I've been travelling and taking photos for many years, so I still want to share some tales and photos from our vast collection. with you. Cheers, Eh?
