Spectacular collection! These are all gorgeous but I especially love the desert one from Tucson (can you say WOW?!), the Portuguese sunsets, Costa Rica, Amelia Island and the one of your profile in Venezuela. Really beautiful album :)
High Hoe Indeed!!! You should make one of your short trips down this way sometime Fred. You would have such fun exploring all the Mennonite sites and I'm sure you'd find some I'm not aware of. Your experiences sure make me think of just how much manual labour our ancestors did each day. How quickly technology has taken over our lives and made us take this easy living for granted. The horse drawn saw operation is most interesting.
Thanks This was a nice walk back into history and my time living on the St Lawrence when we toured UCV a few times. I think they deck out in lights a la Christmas!!! I see many of those scenes here everyday with our Mennonite population!!! There is a broom making place in St Jacobs. Thanks for the memory.
I'm always amazed at how the people of previous centuries lived their lives so efficiently... without the assistance of all the technology we have at our disposal this day in age! Very impressive buildings and artwork to boot! Love the Daguerre church photo and the chicken feather "painting" :)
Photogenic indeed! If I were a newly wed Queen, I certainly wouldn't mind this "gift", (although the ethics of that practice are questionable, hah!). Gives off a very peaceful, serene feeling.
Fond Memories Ed and I traveled to these places in 1994. We loved Portugal. Your photos brought back fond memories of that area. Thanks for sharing! Great job!
Beautiful job capturing the stunning intricacies of the manueline style! I had never heard of that style of architecture before, but it's truly breath-taking! I can only imagine how much better it must have been in real life. The courtyard looks especially welcoming :)
Hi, everyone. I am a retired Canadian senior, living in Ottawa. My dear wife Margo and I used to love to travel just about everywhere, especially as “snowbirds” in the winter. Although we can no longer travel for medical reasons, I've been travelling and taking photos for many years, so I still want to share some tales and photos from our vast collection. with you. Cheers, Eh?
