When we arrived at Banos we were so happy to be here. A small town with nice people that is very safe. Our first day we went for a little hike up to the Virgen de Agua Santa. It had an amazing view of the city and was a nice introduction to amazing Banos. After our hike we went to schedule our first adventure which was river rafting. The next day we woke up early and headed to the river in the Amazon jungle. Our guide was a very funny person and made our trip lots of fun. We couldn´t have gone on a better day because it was beautiful outside. At the very beginning of our trip we were practicing safety so the guide pushed me out of the boat right away. The water felt ... read more

South America » Ecuador » North » Quito December 30th 2009

First day arriving in Quito Eric and I were both very tired. We had a little bit of a problem at the airport with getting into the country. Buying a one way ticket is not as easy as it sounds. After all our troubles and 15 hours of traveling we were ready to get to the hostel and sleep. We soon learned that our hostel was in a very unsafe place and we needed to change. We went to plaza de Foch and had dinner and found a hostel there. The next day was New Years Eve and the Ecuadorians start their fiesta early. Eric and I went to explore the old part of town, that was bustling with life as everyone had the day off for the new year. People gatherd to watch men dressed ... read more

North America » United States » Colorado » Boulder October 17th 2009

Day 1 This weekend Eric and I took a long three day weekend to go see the fam. We had to get up at 3:30 to make our plane by 6:00am. We arrived in Colorado and waited for Adam to pick us up at the airport. As we were waiting we went outside to see the Rocky Mountains. This was my first time in Colorado and I have never seen any Mountain range like the Rockies. What was so surprising to me was how big the mountains were compared to the rest of the area. It was very flat besides the Mountains. We arrived in Denver and were starving so we immediately wanted to grab something to eat. From Adams apartment we walked down to the “mall street” where it was only pedestrian walking besides the ... read more

Europe » Sweden » Stockholm County » Stockholm May 22nd 2009

The next couple of days we spent discovering the city and all of its beauty. Our second day in Stockholm we took a ferry boat across to an island. This island was filled with carnival rides and museums. We went into the museum that was filled with history if Sweden. Eric and I walked around for a couple hours then wanted to venture the city a little more. We found the main street that was only for pedestrians and found an amazing market. We then spent the rest of the night slowly strolling around the city. The next day we rented canoes and bikes to see more of the city. Eric and I were in one canoe while Tina and Monica were in the other. We went all the way around an island. When we ... read more

And we thought Copenhagen was cold. Arriving at Stockholm, which is quite a bit farther north, we had to wear scarves and extra jackets. We first went to check into our hotel which happened to be owned by a band member from ABBA. Eric and I had our own hotel room, we were getting spoiled, and what a hotel room it was. You could play a cd in the main room and listen to it in the bathroom. There were speakers that you could turn up or down in the bathroom!! Also the shower had a window that goes to the bedroom. We were very excited about Stockholm and we had only seen the hotel. When we got settled in we had all day to roam the city. We learned very quickly that Stockholm was ... read more

Europe » Denmark » Region Hovedstaden » Copenhagen May 17th 2009

As we woke up in our fantastic apartment it was very bright outside. There is not much darkness here because Denmark is so far north. The apartment that we rented was a two bedroom apartment, which was perfect for us. Eric and I shared a small bedroom with blinds but poor Adam had to sleep out on the sofa with no blinds covering the window. We started out the day by eating a wonderful fruit breakfast then off to rent bikes. Copenhagen is a very friendly bike city, there are more bikes then cars. I love it! We wanted to get out of the city a little so we rode a good deal, following the coast. We saw many things along the way including the famous mermaid statue. When we came back from our bike trip ... read more

Europe » Denmark » Region Hovedstaden » Copenhagen May 15th 2009

Finally a Vacation! Eric and I have been working non-stop since August and were very ready for a vacation. We woke up very early Saturday morning to take the long plane ride across the ocean. Of coarse we could not sleep on the plane (who can) and ended up watching movie after movie. We arrived safely with our entire luggage at 9am Denmark time. Although we were very happy to arrive at the beginning of the day we were very tired. We took the train into town to meet up with Adam and Monica. After warm showers and lots of coffee we were ready to see the city. Our first stop was for food, we were starved. After looking over the menu at a small café our appetites were no longer huge. The prices of ... read more
