Newly retired and have always traveled over this nation of ours, and have fallen in love with my country. I was to see all of it before it is gone, and with the world in turmoil we don't have any assurances that what we see now will be around 50 years from now.
At Seattle on the way out of Canada we made an abrupt left and headed for Spokane and on through Montana and Yellowstone National Park. The return trip was a great deal of trying to figure out which way we wanted to come home, either directly from Canada straight down to California or a short cut that would take use in a complelely round about kind of way and one that we finally made up our mind on the spur of the moment.... read more
Finally here and able to enjoy a full day of enjoying the Island and discovering its points of interest and the neighborhoods throughout the different cities. This is a large island with lots to see, from Victoria to Sydney and everything in between. This is a beautiful green country with a people who seem pleased with themselves and you know you got to admit, I would be pleased also. We left the conference on the your to the trip that we would never take but decided at the last moment that this was a chance in a lifetime, but who knows how many lifetimes we have. It was a decision that we made with gusto and once on the road there was no stopping us. As you view the pictures you will understand why we approached it was such energy. We finally arrived at the Church Conference and began to acquaint ourselves with the city and the hotel, started right off the bat meeting people that we have known through the years. It was a week to inspire one with a life being lived with God in the midst of our circle. We saw people through the week that we had grown up with, people that we thought we would never see and yet here we were seeing old friends again.... read more
These was the last day of meandering down the highway looking at the beauty of the coast. We stopped wherever we felt that we wanted to, there was no hurry it was less then 200 miles and we had over 8 hours to get to the conference. We spent the night in Florence, Oregon. It had been a full day of driving and we decided to spend the night in florence and watch the fireworks that night. The hotel was situated on the side of a mountain and overlooked the bridge and the river with the city on the other side. Peaceful and beautiful.... read more
We woke late, and started our journey up the coast. One of those cool days that make breathing a joy, the smell of the sea and the pines, of course we have to open our windows since everyone is snacking. We traveled to Florence, a long but peaceful ride.... read more
