Hola Hi Dan. I always enjoy reading your blogs, but having just returned from Mexico this morning in the wee hours, I found your comments this time to be less incredible than I otherwise would have. I, or at least one other member of our vacationing entourage has just finished experiencing the bizarre sidewalks, the tricky cobblestones, the oddly varied wares sold in each particular market, the smells, the inability to make change or to use Traveler's checks, the ATM's being empty (or having been broken into in one case), having to come back at another time to do business (even when we were given a specific time twice and had gone to the appointed place exactly when told to both times). Somehow, though, all of this madness didn't take away from, and sometimes even added to, the charm of the little villages we visited on the Pacific coast of the country. Be safe and enjoy the rest of your stay.

Yo Hey man,
This is pretty funny. Glad to hear that you're still alive. Do me a favor? While you're there, if you happen to find the world's ugliest cowboy belt buckle, buy it for me. It seems to me that Guatemala would have a surplus of ugly cowboy belt buckles.
Good to hear from you! Hi Dan, sounds like you are having an interesting time. It can't be too easy to communicate with anyone - you're probably learning all the important replys and querys by now.
I sold my home yesterday and will be moving to Oregon on March 16th. My trip won't be anywhere near as adventureous as yours.
Take good care and I'll look forward to your next message.
Reply to adventure man You are brave Dan, and still alive. I applaud you!!
It kind of makes you appreciate home doesn't it?
Your mom forwarded your blog site to me.
I can't wait to hear more.

potty training It is with a great sense of "RELIEF" (ahem) that all that training in his early years has finally paid off. Well done, Son!
Love,
Your dad.
Gottadolla Hey Dan, After reading your plug for the Guatemala Tourist Catelog, I couldn't help but come up with a possible new name for marketing purposes. Gottadolla sounds about right. Stay safe , watch your back, and keep taking antibiotics whether you need them or not.
Glad I met ya! Well, I'm glad I got to meet you at least once, since you in all liklihood, won't be returning :-). Seriously, though, from what I've been able to glean from meeting you and hearing about you from your mom, I do believe that you will be a wonderful catch for some lovely lady some day, so I hope for your sake (and the sake of your future wife) that you make a good friend soon after getting off the plane. Be safe. Please return.
Hahahaha Hey buddy, I'll start saving a bit out of my paycheck every week so that when you're kidnapped, we'll have the beginnings of your ransom money. I'm sure your mom will kick in a bit, too. Safe travels, my friend.
Count me in. Hi cousin. Karen passed this first entry onto me, knowing my growing impatience for post-collegiate adventure, lethal or otherwise. Count me into your travelog experience? mmb02@hampshire.edu
Isthis TMI?? Hi Dan,
I congratulate you on your mission - and promise to pray for your health and wellbeing daily until I see you again.
Please keep me informed.
It's been a pleasure Yes. It has indeed been a pleasure reading your first travel blog.
Beyond that, however, based on what I've gleaned by reading it, it's highly likely that I'll never see you again (at least not in the same condition in which you're leaving) so I just want you to know that it has also been a pleasure being your mom, and I will miss you.
