Navina and I arrived around midnight last night and got up this morning for a breakfast of her favorite fruit - mangosteins - these fibrously sheathed succulent white fruit with a magical tanginess and a musky aftertone. We wandered around Little India for a vegetarian cantonese breakfast. Chinese new year began two weeks ago and there are all kinds of preserved plum candies and peanut candies that the restaurant owner shared with us as he exclaimed, "Beautiful! Weather is beautiful! Here are your noodles. Beautiful!" and sang a song alongside the radio. The kitchen was very bright and open with a spiral staircase and pigeons above the bathroom.
