Cruising the night we arrived in Puerto Vallarta the following morning and it was ashore again to visit the hot and humid town. Hot man it must be 40 and humid as all get out, wandering around the port we chose a short guided tour taking in a small village, a Tequila tasting (of course it is Mexico after all) shopping and the old town. Mexico is a dangerous place and all the advice we had was do not leave town without a guide and stay in groups so we did this. We were driven around the coast past the expensive houses to a stop with fantastic views over the bay. Leaving there we were taken inland to a small village that made tequila and were shown a great time, drank tequila and bought tequila. The ... read more

Arriving early in the morning to Cabo San Lucas the day was bright, clear and very hot. Boarding one of the ferries to get to port with the rest of the crew we just loved Cabo with happy smiling locals everywhere. We wandered the streets buying souvenirs and rum and Cuban cigars. Coronas were 2 bucks each so large numbers were consumed sitting in the shade of a local cantina. We had planned only a half day in Cabo so after lunch it was back to the boat for a relaxing day by the pool.... read more

Packing again we caught the shuttle to Long Beach Port and arrived around 10.00 and joined the 3000 other passengers in the hustle and bustle to get checked in, baggage stowed and stateroom keys issued. We finally boarded around 12.30 and as we couldn’t get access to our room until 2.00 it was time to explore and check out the boats lunch service. The ship is absolutely huge some 11 stories high and full off everything the heart could desire. Lunch was splendid and after getting to the room it was time for a quick change and then out to the pool. Dinner that night was at the Black Pearl restaurant and set the standard for the days to come. The food aboard the ship is just fantastic and runs 24 hours a day.... read more

With only one more day in LA at this time we needed to find a cheap place for lunch and dinner so we headed off to Culver City shopping mall. Again using public transport we found our way there and wandered the area doing a little shopping. Not much else to report really but we did find a cheap place for lunch. Deciding against going back for dinner we dined at the hotel restaurant which to be frank was less than satisfactory. Excited, as tomorrow we were off to the cruise it was off to bed early.... read more

Well the time to leave Europe has come and packing up as usual is a bit of a drama, still we finally got that done and it was off to the airport to catch the big silver bird to the good ol' US of A. Arriving in plenty of time we weighed our bags and found we were more then 10kg over weight so a rapid re-pack and chucking out of some less essential gear was called for. Joining the queue to check in we finally got aboard for the Lufthansa flight to LA. Some 12 hours later we arrived and caught the shuttle to our hotel, the Marriott at LAX. Deciding to head off into the Santa Monica area we caught a public bus to town and saw the pier, the famous beach and downtown ... read more

Rising early as we have to get the camper back by 11.30, we did the final pack and clean of the van and head off to McRent to deliver our little home on wheels back. The final insult was the bloody Tomtom could not for the life of itself find the address, no matter how hard Pam tried, it kept on coming up with the wrong direction or 300kms to go. We knew it was around 30kms so here we were driving around Frankfurt not sure where we were going or where we were. Finally we remembered that you had to put in the postcode for German addresses, you know the Germans everything must have a number and paperwork. Finally arriving at McRent and getting hit for a new mirror for the one I damaged 56 ... read more

After a peacefully night it was back to work for Pam, and Bree and I started the clean up of the van, it was quite a job as it has been our home for 2 months and lets face it we had not focused on that for a while. It took most of the morning and we packed bags while we were at it and with the day drawing to a close, Pam had finished work and it was off to the restaurant for dinner. The restaurant was a great little Italian place with good food and a great atmosphere. With the Europe leg of the trip drawing to a close it is with mixed emotions that I write now, part of me is pleased that it is ending as we are all tired with traveling ... read more
