Enjoyed reading this entry. I did get the first entry and enjoyed reading that too. Hopefully the seas will calm down for the rest of your trip! Would Bruce like me to DVD the Superbowl? Nothing new here - which should be good news for you! Signe's busy picking out paint to paint her entire condo. Vicki has been a lot of help. Looks like yellow in the living room/kitchen, two shades of lavender in master bedroom/bath, two shades of green in laundry/guest bath/guest bedroom. She wants to "declutter." Always have my basement, lol. Steve and Katy put an offer in on a house. A short sale. People accepted. Now the bank. That will empty my basement a lot :) It's very close in development next to Country Grove where we are. Toured EPIC with my attic angels classmates and then a happy hour in another million dollar+ house. Extraordinary. Sure made my house mundane but glad to be here. It seems all my classmates are rich. They weren't teachers :) No snow since the big storm in December with just a dusting yesterday. Big storm and then none is better than 4 inches every couple of days. Storm in December cost us $207.00, but thank god we didn't have to snow blow it ourselves. Hope you get internet soon! Take care, Kathy
LOVING YOUR BLOG!!!!! Hi Bruce and Cindy, So much fun keeping up with your journey! What great adventures....including your rescue at sea. We did tour Turkey and Greece with OAT so are especially enjoying your detailed reviews. So glad you are enjoing the trip other than a couple days you were under the weather. We should be on that trip with you!!!!! Just can't cut loose for that long yet, but we enjoy hearing all about it. Stay healthy, and we look forward to your next entry. Miss you two!!
It\'s been over 20 years since we were in Spain but it brought back memories of Seville/The Alcazar; Everything about your trip sounds wonderful, enjoy and keep well.
HI Your days sound wonderful! Sure beat museums in New Mexico. Our trip was very good though. Hope you both are feeling good now! How's the bridge going?
Cheers, Kathy
Hi Just read your last two blogs. Read the first a few days ago. Glad your across the ocean. Are you enjoying your new dinner mates at the late seating? I laughed. As you didn't say anything, I assume you didn' get the upgrade to a balcony (forget what it's called) again. What floor are you on? I'm sure the window room is fine. Rescue sounds like an interesting experience. I'm surprised they could do it from the top of the ship -- didn't realize it was that big. I'm amazed that those fishermen still had their suitcases and that the helicopter would take the time to retrieve them! Would have thought they would be sent when you hit a port.
I can visualize you moving around the ship. Kinda neat.
We arrived in Albuquerque today. It's been a very good trip. Loved Sedona and Kartchner Caverns. Love the 75 mile an hour speed limits. Kudos to me for safely navigating Phoenix expressways safely. Thank goodness for GPS. Will tell more when we see you.
Cheers! Kathy
great reading We so enjoy reading and learning about your trip, you write very well. Paul's home town of Montevideo, Mn. is named for and is the sister city of the one in Uruguay. It's hard to believe that a river could be 130 miles wide. Must be so fun to have Kathie and Mike with you, "hi" to them. Today we got our second blog from Katie, she is enjoying Costa Rica.
Anxiously waiting your next blog. Paul and Bonnie
wow! great writing. cindy, this is truly amazing for you to get to absorb all this. what a wonderful experience you're having. p.e.o. is fine with julia keeping everyone informed of every move. attic angel is continuing!!! don't know anything new about our "job" for next year as it is all hush, hush until the spring luncheon. i wonder if you'll be back by then-april 26. that's when "they" will announce me, you, and carol as chairmen. we'll have many more people to help all year long but we'll call the shots so to speak. my eye surgery is 99% healed and my sight is much clearer. no pain ever. continues clear, sunny and cold. going to kenosha and racine for youngest grandson's singing in the kenosha children's choir this weekend. bb tonight against MN at MN and then Northwestern here on sunday. the boys are looking good and jon leuer is able to play tonight. he says he'll have to adapt to the way the others are playing since they did so well without him. he's a neat kid. that's all for this time. continue the saga!!!! nancy
Hi from Seattle. Hi Cindy,
Very interesting blog, especially today. It's summer there now, so probably quite balmy. Some classmates are reading it too. I'm here visiting oldest daughter and family. Home Friday.
John
Saints Did you get to see the Super Bowl? great game, hardly anyone expected New Orleans to win. It sounds as if you are really enjoying your cruise and we like hearing about it. P.and B.
Catching up Hi, I really am just catching you for the first time, on my birthday card Bonnie reminded me we could be following you. Your comments remind of our time with you. We're going to a Super Bowl Party soon, I hope the Saints win. We are having some rain here in Tucson. But now it is warm and nice. The wild flowers should be good this year. Keep up the story line. We'll follow. Marlyn
Hi Cindy,
I've been following you on the trip. I'm waiting to see if you step foot on Antarctica, and if you stop at Tierra del Fuego. When in high school or junior high, I liked to read about the early explorers, including Ferdinand Magellan. Seems to me he had kind of a hard time with Cape Horn, but made it through, finding a new route to the East Indies.
Well, have a good time,
John
so much good information Thanks for the birthday greeting, we missed you at dinner. Peru: agave, panama hats, ivory nut and now Chile, we really enjoy hearing from you and learning, good pictures too. Super Bowl, we like New Orleans but recently read in the paper that the first year coach for the Colts grew up and played football in Beloit. It should be a good game. Did you hear that the Badgers beat Michigan State by a bunch!! Our Katie arrived in San Jose yesterday, her roommate is a girl from Baraboo, named Katie Wilson! After a two day orientation they will be camping and studying tropical plants.
Waiting to hear from you again. P. and B.
Hola! Hola mi amigos! Glad to hear you had fun in Peru. Did you try the Pisco Sour? Ryan and I had to have one on our honeymoon. Delicious! Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Adios!
Great blog Hi Cindy,
Glad you're staying connected. Guess there's wireless internet about everywhere now. Jeanie and I are going to France and Italy, May 2-June 1. You're ambitious to go all around the world. How long is that going to take you? Hope you're back in time for the 60th reunion. I'll post your blog address on the web site. I'm enjoying reading it.
John
Interesting We have to show your blog to Katie(granddaughter) as she will be in Costa Rico in two weeks and also in Panama for a bit studying tropical plants, etc. for the next four and a half months. Jill told us that she's getting a little nervous about going but we think that she'll do fine and that it's a great opportunity for her.
Waiting for the next installment. Paul and Bonnie
Howler Monkeys We saw Howlers and Spider monkeys in Belize last month. I found out if you growl or bark at them they talk back.
How fun! How long will your cruise last? It sounds like so much fun aand adventure. I am enjoying your blog--so much. June
thanks, good to hear from you. Brett Favre had a great game, threw four touchdown passes, beat Dallas by a bunch(maybe 34to3) "Julie and Julia" is good, anything is with Meryl Streep. This week we saw both "Blind Side" and "Invictus" both are excellent. Sounds as if your are off to great start. We enjoy hearing from you and following your trip. Paul and Bonnie
Lucky You! How exciting and fun!! Can't wait to read your Blog along the way. Happy Holidays to you also!! When will you return? Antartica is STILL on our list!
looking forward to it ! Hi, we are taking a cruise "Princess" in Nov. through the Panama Canal. There will be 4 of us. Us and our travel companions and best friends. I have just found this site so maybe I will run across you again. We will also be stoping in Puerto Amador, and through the canal. Thanks for your comments, I knew nothing about this city. Patty
G'Day Mates ! Sounds like you are having a great cruise! We love reading your blogs. What a great way to stay in touch and keep everyone posted. You have stopped at so many of the places we hit with you in Jan 2006--GCT Tour Australia/New Zealand/Fiji-- so this has been fun to hear about them again. Sure it is a little different on a cruise ship. We are also looking into a Society Island cruise for next year so loved the reports on islands you hit. Keep your blogs coming!! Enjoy the trip; stay safe and healthy!
We've always enjoyed traveling whenever we could find the time. Now that we're retired, we're taking the trip of our life: a cruise around the world.... full info
