Feliz fin de año! I enjoyed your trip right from the start, albeit I was riding along cyberstyle...a compliment, as your writing does give us readers that emotional connection of being right there with you. Best of luck with your continued journey!
Very nice blog. Again, very honest and...excuse my saying so, but excellent English for an American! And I am glad you like Bombay so much...it is the city that I grew up in.
Oh how I have missed reading your blog. happy to feel you again. You are wise chantel and I know the feeling of searching and searching inside the soul and ego. I like your metaphor of the ego being cut off from its source of food (adrenaline, movement, change, instigation, etc) and simply saying, ill try this even though all the signs say dont. from my understanding, enlightenment means utter positive joy and acceptance. Like if you are so eternally grateful you will never have to ask or pay for anything because it will be given to you. I believe one would be released from their body and mind if they became so full of joy. You sometimes need the nasty ppl (aka pervs grabbing your ass) to let your soul snap, lose its cool, and retaliate. enlighten thyself first. Then once stable, start enlightening as many around u as you can. Its tiring because theres a lot of animals out there that would love... Now im rambling. anyways i miss you girl and send you light and strength over there. Such fond memories of being in Big Sur with you and Clare and diving in carmel (that was wiiilddddd!!!!) hehe. im working at a dive shop.. considering getting my dm. But the puget sound is pretty nipply.
Love,
K
Amazing! I wish the world was full of open-minded and accepting people like you....here in the US everyone is so politically correct but actually quite close-minded.
Great adventure! It's really a great adventure! I've never been to India, but this helps me to ensure my plan to add India in the list :).
Where are you planning to go next? If you want to visit Vietnam, here is a good website about Vietnam visa on arrival
You are an adventurous woman and hold a unique set of experiences I still struggle with the squat...but I'm older and less flexible. Your memories will last you a lifetime. I'm glad you don't need to head home yet. Please continue to Share your experiences.
already one year Chantel
I cannot beleive that it is already a year, since I took you up to the airport for your journey to somewhere not knowing when I will see you again, but I actually see you every day when I'm doing whatever, working play golf, and on and on. you sure have filled my heart with thought and love you are an amazing child and never forget it. from the first picture to the last I can see a different person a much happier person, a person with passion to live and find out about the world and all the lovely people in it
Love you Lots
Dad
India When will you get back to India and is it easy to get a work permit?
Your writing is exceptional and must ultimately end up in books!
Have an enlightening journey!
I accidentally submitted that without finishing... So continuing,
Just thank you for being inspirational and insightful and thought provoking! I wish you luck with the rest of your travels! And I hope someday I will be able to enjoy similar such experiences myself. :)
Thank you! Hi. I'm sure you don't remember but I once ,et you in the town of Dominical, costa rica. I'm a family friend of Bev and you came to visit her at that amazing house on the hill looking down on the ocean. I was one of the kids splashing around in the pool and I remember you showed some travel photos on your computer.
Anyways, I'm not sure when but I came across a link to this blog somewhere on Facebook and since I've read very single one of your blog posts at least once. You're an amazing writer and an inspirational traveler and person. Some day I hope to also travel and explore the world and I wanted to say that your blog has inspired me and given me lots of new ideas.
:) Very beautifully written...could almost picture the landscape (and the lady sitting beside you in the bus!!). How much was the bus ride? And, how long did it take to reach Kathmandu (?)
I'm living life as widely as I can; going where the wind takes me. I have an open heart that only wants to love and an open mind that only wants to learn. My ultimate goal in life is to be a wise old woman sitting in a rocker, spinning tales of adventure and, hopefully, inspiring others to go out and LIVE!
Forgive me any assumptions, I tell it as I see it. ... full info
