I am blessed to say that this was my THIRD trip to the Big Island of Hawaii. My parents are big lovers of Hawaii and have been there even more times than I have. I use to say they were just obsessed, but I think I may be too! Now that one of the most important and romantic days of my life happened there, it will always hold a very special place in my heart. We stayed at the Kona Coast Resorts just off of Alii drive. It was a great location because it wasnt too far from all the happening on Alii, but it also wasnt in the centre of everything. We were close to the Hawaii, aswell as a grocery/shopping centre and the best snorkeling beach on the island! And thats exactly where we ... read more

My fiancee Mathieu and I were due to get married on May 8th in Mexico. We took just over a year to plan this blessed event and had everything from the flowers to the photographers picked out. Thirty four of us were due to leave in a matter of days for an exciting two weeks of sun, surf and sand; we couldnt wait! But then... SWINE flu happened. We hoped that it was just the media blowing everything way out of proportion and planned to go ahead with our plans. That is, until the Canadian government advised against Canadians travelling into Mexico and flights all got cancelled. So there we were, a week before our wedding date, without any wedding plans anymore. We were even on the news several times because of our situation! Thankfully, the ... read more

So I have just returned from a wonderful cold Christmas in Northern Ontario. I honestly didnt know if I was going to be able to survive it but here I am! To start off, I didnt think I was going to GET to Thunder Bays airport on the 21st of December. It snowed and snowed for days before I was suppose to leave and it was still snowing when we left for the airport at 445am. Thankfully I got there JUST on time after sliding around on the highway and took off after a slight delay due to de-icing the plane. I arrived in Thunder Bay only a couple hours behind, which was pretty good considering their were people stranded all over the country at airports. The next morning Matt and I headed straight for Kap. ... read more

Outside in the cold

So I just got back from a week in freezing cold Ontario. I knew it would be cold in March, but I never thought it would be as cold as it was. When Matt picked me up from the airport and we walked out of those sliding airport doors I felt like turning around and heading right back inside. True, it was sunny outside and the air wasnt moist, but that cold just cuts right into you! We drove to Kapuskasing the next morning with the Brundages for the Easter Conference. I couldnt believe the amount of snow they had there. The snowbanks were at least 15 feet high and it was hovering around -18 degrees! We spent the first night there eating a warm bowl of soup that Mama Claudine had cooked up for about ... read more

Okay so I flew into ThunderBay last friday, November 9th. Matt picked me up at the airport with a dozen red roses and a BIG bag of m&ms (my absolute favorite chocolate) At this point he still refused to tell me what exactly he had planned for the next day, but all I knew was that I had to get up super early (i wasnt impressed, but i figured id go with it haha) So Saturday morning he picked me up at 8am and we grabbed some breakfast at his place and he informed me that we were going SHOPPING!!! He was taking me to the mall to buy me a nice dressy outfit for the rest of the day. Now im broke, so I never get to go shopping, so this was HUGE for me ... read more

So im back from my trip to Ontario! It started out with a beautiful drive from Ontario Wisconsin up to ThunderBay Ontario. I had an "interesting" talk with Steven and Stephannie and had an amusing time watching Stevens little dance; he certainly kept us entertained to say the least. That night we stayed at the Brundages and went out for lunch to Boston Pizza with Caitlin! From there we drove to Kapuskasing and arrived at Stephannies parents house around 9pm. Matt showed up an hour later (yaaaay) safe and sound. I was freaking out about him driving that much on his bike but he got their in one peice so I was happy haha. That night I met Matts mum Claudine who is so cute and totally sweet (must run in the family.) The next morning ... read more

So I had a great time here in Wisconsin; it was alot different then I thought itd be. I guess I kind of had the image that it would be like Sask... flat, lots of cattle, that kinda thing. But it ended up being really awesome. We got up at like 4am for our drive, which wasnt nearly as long as I thought it would be! Although, I was slightely freaked out driving through South Dakota because their was a crazy lightening storm at 1am, but I just hid my eyes and prayed wed get their in one peice haha. I got made fun of for that too cause I was sure we were driving into the middle of a Tornado and that we were going to die haha. Guess its just my drama queen side ... read more

So today was our first and only day at California Adventure park! First thing we went for was the Hollywood Tower of Terror cause we knew there would be a huge line up for it! I really wasnt that nervous, mainly excited! When we got to the top of the tower for the lineup there was this little 5 year old kid going on it! His dad said he had no idea what he was getting into but instead of breaking him in gently he was gonna do the opposite haha. So the ride was basically insane... you never knew what you were doing except for the fact that your stomach never settled for the entire minute or so you were on the ride. FANTASTIC! New favorite ride down there!!! From there we went on ... read more

So today was a break from disneyland and the plan was to hit up the Beach! Thankfully it was a much sunnier day although it was a tad bit windy there. I still managed to get in some prime tanning time and simply enjoy the sun, sand and surf. I could have stayed there all day! But... alas we had to get back into to get ourselves ready for Medieval Times dinner show! We had been there a few times before but the food is always so good and the show very amusing. We ended up getting the RED night who was a dead ringer for Donny Osmond (I personally had a wee little crush on the Yellow and Black Knight haha) ... read more

So today was day 2 in Disneyland! Thankfully we werent awake quite so early... but we still headed for the park for the opening at 9am. We decided to check out some of the areas we hadnt gotten a chance to the day before... like Fantasy Land. Most of the rides there are pretty boring except for the Matterhorn mountain, that ones fun. Matthew also got picked today for the "Jedi Training Camp" which was like a dream come true for him. After that we ran into the Ruesches so we headed to downtown for a lovely lunch at the RainForest Cafe. Mmm pizza. We took off to ToonTown from there which, Im not a huge fan of (especially when you get a major migraine from no coffee...) so I just enjoyed the sunshine for ... read more
