travel adventures Your descriptions of your travels are so vivid I feel I am there with you. Know the enjoyment you feel when you have running water, showers and toilets that flush. I had a new appreciation after living in tents for several months for those things we all take for granted. Noticed the word fiancee. Enjoying re-reading your journal.

YES! ! ! Love you sweet Cameron and am blown away by your amazing traveling heart wide open, looking up to the sky, down to the EARTH again and following only the open road that lays before your blessed feet. Thanks for inspiring my footprints for peace. With you in Spirit always.
Wow Cam! Oh Cam that was too scary. I'm so sorry your camera was snaked. I'm so grateful that nothing happened to you. Thank god you are okay and all they stole was the camera...
Lamu...! Hi Cameron,
Quite a gripping tale you tell here...glad to hear you are okay and so sorry about your camera! What a bummer.
My limited experience in Africa consists of a 3-week stay in Kenya in the early 90s, mostly in Nairobi. My sister was an intern with USAID back then; I was living in Berlin at the time and joined her for some traveling. Our trip to Lamu was one of the most memorable journeys I've ever taken - from the small prop plane that flew us in, to the swarm of guides waiting to attach to each tourist as we arrived, to the highway of sailboats traveling up and down the coastline....We signed up for some sort of fishing excursion and marveled at how quickly the local guide caught our lunch; it seemed no tourist could hook a thing. Still, it was delicious, seasoned with lime and chili pepper...dinng on this simple fare on a white beach island in the middle of nowhere was paradise indeed. And at that time, as I recall, there was only one car on the island, which I believe they said belonged to "the president." Ah, the memories! Thanks for reminding me of them.
Michael thinks your camera must be insured? We hope so. Still, as you point out, your loss could have been much greater...so perhaps in a strange way it was your insurance.
Wishing you safe and happy travels ahead.... -Bellamy
Sweet story of contrasts and a little mystery at the end! I love "the kiss." And the shot of the beautiful girl traveling with you. Vaya con whatever dios you have.

The one without the spelling mistake - you can delete the other! I really appreciate your photographs; using colour brings out the best in your talent. Enjoy the rest of your trip...

'Who are you?' said the Caterpillar...
'I-I hardly know, Sir, just at present- at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.'
'What do you mean by that?' said the Caterpillar, sternly. 'Explain yourself!'
'I can't explain myself, I'm afraid, Sir,' said Alice, 'because I'm not myself, you see.'
-Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Listen to wise old Joseph-withers, dear Alice, the man called once Mr. Campbell. He spoke thus:
"You are that mystery which you are seeking to know"
