Hola Todas! I know it's been awhile, but things have been a little hectic around here lately. We found out that Carnaval is more of a Brasilian (Brazil) celebration and there really isn't all that many fiestas or gatherings in Argentina. But four of us including me went to see a traditional Tango Show two weekends ago at a place called Bar Sur (South Bar) which is one of the oldest tango establishments in Buenos Aires in the barrio (or neighborhood) of San Telmo which is known for its Tango and lively theater and arts scene. And on the night we went it just so happened to be their 98th Anniversary of Bar Sur and we received complementary champagne. Hola Todos! Hello Everyone! I have been going going going since I got here! Our flight was delayed in Charleston until 6, and we almost missed our connecting flight in Atlanta to Buenos Aires (referred to as BA from here on), but made it just in time. We flew all night on Saturday and arrived in BA on Sunday Morning about 11am, their time. Speaking of time, I am three hours ahead here, not one like I thought it was going to be, so it's 4pm here now, and 1pm at home. The owner's of the two houses or residencias we are staying in met us at the airport with a bus, and then we drove directly to the houses, which are HUGE by the way. This is my new blog for my semester abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I will post pictures, videos, and diaries here every so often about what I've been doing, where I've been, neat/interesting facts I've learned, and you will be able to travel along with me in a sense. You will also be able to track my progress by map when I go on excursions or travel to Chile, Peru, and Paraguay the last three weeks I am there. I will be flying out of Charleston on January 19th at 5pm and will arrive in Buenos Aires, Argentina the next morning. I will be returning to the US on May 27th, three days before my 21st Birthday!
