Got up at 9am to get breakfast and check out of our hostel here in Dublin. Fixed up a simple breakfast and headed out the door to go catch a bus out to Galway on the west coast. Got on the 11am bus and were there by 2:30pm or so. Not a bad ride either, got to check out the Irish countryside, which was very....Irish. Lots of cobbled walls dividing farmlands and plenty of cattle and sheep grazing. We checked in at the Barnacles Quay Hostel, which is right on the main shopping/pub street. (highly recommended). Put our packs down and headed out the door to explore what Galway had to offer. Walked around the main drag which was nice before buying some groceries. In a list the highlights were: seeing the 9000 year lease Arthur Guinness signed to start the business, learning you are supposed to drink Guinness in 7 gulps in 7 minutes, Josh learning to pour the perfect pint and ... read more

Still just waking up as I sit outside of Customs in the Dublin Airport waiting for Josh's delayed flight to get in. I actually got some good sleep on the plane as I was heavily medicated. Yesterday was just a hassle at JFK but it worked out alright as I ended up just taking an earlier Aer Lingus flight on the same route. Watched a little Curb (good) and The Men Who Stare at Goats (not so good) on the plane over. Also played what I assume was the UK version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. That got a little frustrating though as all the questions seemed to be about cricket and Limey slang. Ended up talking to this kid Brandon sitting next to me who is on a group "educational" tour of Ireland ... read more
