very envious Ben,
Couldn't be more envious of your travels. Thanks again for keeping us all posted! However, it's unacceptable that you're as groomed as you appear and was hoping for much, much more facial hair by this time. While you're mostly making us proud, I speak for many in reminding you that you're sort-of letting some of us down as well. It's never too late...
Thanks for the updates, bud.
Mark
: ) Hi Ben, thanks for the updates and thank you for the continued laughter and giggles that permeate my being when reading your comments. I look forward to seeing and hearing more.
Take that Bulungula Guy! I want a pic of you in a Jordan jersey, dunkin on a local.
BTW, was just in Tokyo - they got McRib, one of the hottest McD's items!!
Go America!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad to hear you are enjoying Malawi. The lake looks beautiful...your living condition sounds somewhat undesirable tho...a grumpy old man and bats...I only live with one of the two thankfully...maybe he will take the bats with him when he leaves...we can live in hope! I had a great chat with my sister this a.m. and she said Noor is very soon on her way to be with you...we are all happy that you two will get to be together...take good care, love Stephanie Scott, Max, Caroline and the motley k9 crew
Jarts!?! Ben, why didn't you ever tell me you were a Jarts player? Many, many Kelly family cookouts - big ass Jarts and beer, great combo.
Takin' lots of heat back here for my comments, new posts please!
MK
Your reflections continue to make great reading... thanks and keep up the good work. I'm especially very excited to see your beard nicely developing into the survivor-type masterpiece it is sure to become! Keep it coming!!
Roundball Great pictures Ben. Perhpas you can work on finally color-coordinating South Africa's flag while you are there...? I noticed you have erected a makeshift basketball court, perhaps to send a message that you will be praticing abroad. The foliage is an interesting touch - does it serve as a defender, or is it just to decorate the court?
Thimphu and BattamBang I looked up Thimphu, Bhutan and Battambang, Cambodia on Google Earth. Thimphu seems like a small place, mountainous and probably very cold in November. It is in the Himalayan range with Mount Everest to the West. BattamBang is the second largest city in Cambodia. It has an airport and a river flowing through the city. It is very green. Jan, Feb and Mar would be cool to pleasant but after that I think it will get hot and humid. Lots of Hindu Temples and historical sites to visit. Looking forward to your next entry in the blog. Yeah, some people actually read it. Take care. Mir
Lesotho Did Mr. Z give you any NFL picks? Does he think the Jets will make the playoffs? Also, do they play Jarts in Lesotho? I bet they could be a global Jarts powerhouse. Might end up scaring the ponies, though. Not sure they want to diminish "the brand".
County-style It sounds startlingly like County. Do you guys have implants? Because at County, since they haven't paid any vendors in a year (Synthes is owed over $800K), we no longer have any Synthes or Stryker implants. Most of the small frag sets are missing screws of the most commonly used sizes and there is no more Synthes locking. I am told that this will be rectified next week when the new contracts are signed, but we will see. It is another wrinkle in treating 6-7 week old ankle fractures.
Africa Ahoy Happy belated Birthday! I'm so glad to read your blog. I (and the moving van) managed to make it to Utah without having a breakdown. On Monday I'm teaching my first class. Whoa.
Good luck in your travels. And congratulations on becoming a blogger. Now you really are somebody.
Keepin' the rice in the family! Hey Ben! Got a great laugh out of seeing the Aunt Caroline rice! Your cousin will be pleased to know that we named her for rice only found a continent or two away...you WERE named for Uncle Ben's rice, right? LOL...like you discovered a washing machine after doing it by hand, perhaps you'll find a shower?? Hope so! We all send hugs and love...everyone is well here. Max home from VT but out all the time visiting hs friends...Scott's flying...Caroline shopping for college...again...haha...and I am holding down the fort with the help of 4 crazy canines...take good care, Stef, Scott, Max and Caroline
Yes, it has been years since you've put in "tubby time"! Good to hear the water is running and there is a "hot" side to the faucets --unlike Kunene. Great talking with you this afternoon, I missed some of the conversation as it was choppy a few times when you were speaking, doesn't matter. you sounded great. Glad all is well and new experiences present themselves each day.
Love, Mom

Of Course
Motorbikes kick ass. So did Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Coincidence?
