Nice blog! Not so much about the destination...all about the journey! Cant agree more with you about the traveling alone, more often than not it is actually when you get to meet the more people!
It sounds like you have met a lot of interesting people, and have been through quite an adventure in your life. That's a wonderful thing to experience.
My friend!!! Hi Bill! How are you? looking for some photos from Bolson I found your blog. It's very nice read this things about my country, although some inconvenient you had in Bs.As., but as you could see, everybody isn't the same.
Send me your email so I can send you some photographs.
Enjoy the rest of your vacations!
Well Done Hey Bill, nice work. That first pics looks so much like the little pass just beyond "The Lake".
By the way, your boat shed is shedding the snow beautifully.
Very cool Bill, it seems you have found some excellent places and experiences. We're enjoying them vicariously as we shiver under about 3 feet of snow and single-digit temperatures, so keep up the great journaling!
Punta Tombo Hi Qian, Punta Tombo is a Provencial Reserve, with park rangers who are stationed along the path and at the parking area. It is very well organized and needs to be - it would only take a single person walking on the beach to panic a lot of very happy penguins. Or someone with a dog... There is a park entrance fee, I think it was 30 or 40 pecos.
Si, es verdad... Hi Bill! Nice to see you on here too...perhaps meeting up down the road won´t be so much by-chance now that we can check in every so often. But I wanted to comment about your post. We agree! On Friday, we went down to Retiro and were warned in advance not to leave our bikes alone, even if securely locked up. So Mark locked them to a tree and sat by them while I went inside. Within fifteen minutes, four teenage boys were trying to take his stuff...one trying to rip his clothes, another grabbing at his day pack, another physically getting in his face, etc. So he just screamed like crazy and held onto his bag. A few people tried to help, but they came back. The second time they came back, Mark grabbed the bag and just got in the biggest ones face and kept screaming at him...trying to scare them I guess you could say. This sort of worked, the biggest kid took off. And then the cops came and really smacked them around. I guess this is common, to use distractions like this to pickpocket and steal. Whew...good luck out there. Nothing stolen here. We were sad we couldn´t thank the cops more though, with our baby baby spanish.
Doh! Bill, Greetings from Alaska! Thanks for posting your adventures; we are following along with great interest. I'm sorry to hear your laptop was stolen; I hope that doesn't hamper the blogging you were going to do.
Nothing very exciting to report on the home front. The big winter storm we're in the middle of turned out to be just rain (so far) in Gustavus.
Cheers,
Nate and Chip
Great museum. I hope you take the chance to see all the Harvard collections while you're there. If I recall correctly, the Sackler was my favorite when I was there.
Awesome 19th c. galleries w/500 mammals The Harvard Museum of Natural History displays some 12,000 specimens from the University's vast collections of over 21 million.
It's just a 7 minute walk across historic Harvard Yard from the Harvard Square Red Line T station...and open 9 to 5 361 days/year. Info at www.hmnh.harvard.edu
Looking through the water tube What a great shot of a rather special glacial feature! Just stumbled across your blog and will have a look at your other Glacier Bay entries now - they do look promising.
Hi Bill Hi Bill,
I've enjoyed reading your blog's in the last few days.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I had never read a blog before but accidentally stumbled upon the the TravelBlog.org site and starting reading your blog.
I was kinda shocked to see the pigs tied up and strapped to the back of the motorbikes, scooters.
I don't have a blog. as of yet. I've only traveled within the US thus far.
Thanks again for sharing. I'll write again when I read more.

Awesome Pictures and Narrative Bill, Awesome pictures and narrative - I felt as if I was here with you. Are you a professional writer/photographer? We are leaving for Alaska in 2 weeks and hope to experience some of the "magic" that you had.
Cool Blog!! Bill you are definitely a world class traveler!! Love your blog, it really shows how attitude is everything when it comes to third world travel.....We're just back from our two months in Mexico, and though I have to confess it seems a bit tame next to your adventures, we had a great time.
Hope your stay in Hawaii goes well, see you soon

Merry Christmas
How're the parasites? Bill - Have you gotten sick yet? How's the food? This is the first time I've visited your blog, and it's pretty cool. You must be seeing some neat birds. Many Yanks over there? Still traveling mostly by yourself? Used your kayak yet? Loved the haircut story. Hope they put real gold in your filling...

I live in Southeast Alaska. Summers are spent exploring the local wilderness, kayaking, hiking and taking a whole lot of photos. Winters I travel when I can. So the site is a mix... Alaska and Angkor Wat... This year, 2014, I am going to.... ... full info
