Hi Alex Wow - looks like you've seen so many different things and places. You must be having such a awesome time - I would love to be camping around Australia like you. I was first at the cross country at school, and we are training for the sports carnival now. Will you miss it? When will you be back?
Keep having heaps of fun.
From Javen
Hi Javen, we've seen lots of exciting things, even a platypus and a cassowary. We are getting back in term 4 so we will miss the carnival but I hope you win.
Alex
Well done to Kyle for finishing such a long walk from the park to the camp site. The scenery looks absolutely beautiful ... and good prices for the camp sites is a real bonus!
Boabab trees Aren't boabab trees so fun! Not sure if it is the season for their fruit. A large pod (sort of like a football but smaller) with what we call cream of tartar in. They are sweetish tart little pebble things which you can suck. The Africans say that God was very angry and pulled up the trees and put them back head first, so that their branches are really the roots, hence the funny shapes of the branches.
Your blog looking forward to reading your blog Sal and seeing all your great photos! What an amazing 4 months you guys are going to have xxx happy and safe travels... Gail
Hi sally & Co. Nice to read about your travels, I was born at one of those plantations in Carnarvon! Great sky picture. Alex & Kyle I enjoyed your diary entries. Safe travels. Ana x
Packing up in the rain Hey Sal, bummer about the rain! I agree, the pack up in the wet sucks - we're fine tuning and can almost pack up the whole thing now without letting water in! Hope the sunny weather stays for the majority of your trip!
I spent the first 20 years of my life 10 minutes down the road from New Norcia. We spent a lot of time there, mostly at the pub :D I got my drivers license there and the cop made me pretend that a tree was a stop sign. Happy travels Sal!
Good luck on the start of your journey We will enjoy reading your blog and touring Australia with you. Glad your start was good and that Perth sent you off with good weather!
Happy Camping! Wishing you and the boys (Mike included) all the best for your trip. Hope you have a fabulous time and create many memories.
I'll be keeping an eye on the blog and reading about all your adventures.
Goodluck and bon voyage Sal! Looking forward to reading the blog and hearing about your adventures. It's something I'd love to do, so I'll consider your trip my trial run if that's cool with you :D Map out the quicksand and the rickety bridges :p It's gonna be awesome. Definitely an 'it'll change you for the better!'
