Great to hear from you! Hi Christine and Garnet - thanks for sending your comments! Somewhere on this page should be a link about sending me an email - that's how you can send me the picture of Hugo. The email is sent through this blogsite and I get it later on my email account. I'll look out for an email from you.
HUGO Have read your article while visiting Napier. It is very interesting and it was real good to meet you both. Sounds like you are still having lots of fun. Will definately get another photo of Hugo on the couch for you. Happy holidaying! From the McCutcheon Family.
Never saw Bluff Hi Julie
No we never made it to Bluff, though I would have liked to have had time for it. I have a cousin in Invercargill whom we visited and saw a little bit of the city during the day before they came back from work. I would have liked to have seen the end of Highway 1 as well, as we saw the beginning of it in the Northland. We had to hurry on as we only had a few days for the west coast before taking the ferry back to Wellington. So Bluff got dropped from the agenda, unfortunately.
bluff is at the very bottom of newzealand have you been there it is a shame if you havnet it is approx 25 minutes drive from invercargill i stood under the sign many years ago cheers julie i love the photo keep them comming
And from alcarney: Well I'm glad so many people seem to be enjoying the pictures! It certainly takes a long time to upload them, so it's very rewarding to get messages from my audience. Keep those comments coming - I love to hear from whomever is having a look!
Over lander Companion Just to let you know I am keeping an eye on your travels lol The pics of Welly where a reminder of my time spent there, Your obviously still having a great time, keep the picks coming.
Chris:
great welly pictures! Enjoyed your photos especially the ones of Welly as we were there last November visiting our son. Stuart also took us to the cemetery which I found very interesting. Enjoy the rest of your time in NZ-- lovely country!
Pat in Northern England.
Great photos! I`ve enjoyed your photos particularly of Welly as I was there last November visiting our son. We went to the cemetary and I was impressed by the different sections there. We also visited other places in North Island but didn`t get chance to see much of Auckland. Enjoy the rest of your time in NZ. Look forward to more photos.
Patricia in Northern England.
Orewa fast foods Oh yes, Cliff, we did see those spots. But COMPARED TO WASAGA BEACH, Ontario, Canada, - that handful of fast food joints is but a drop in a measly bucket. Not that I wanted more!!! It was a pleasant surprise to see it refreshingly lacking in junk food, comparatively speaking. >ahem< A.L. No salad bars either, though, or organic food markets,....
fast food off orewa beach you're just un-initiated!
there's the ubiquitous KFC,Macdonalds, n SubWay,
Plus 2 off Thai, 1 x Indian as well as pommey fish 'n chips takeaways! All on the water front road....not cheek by jowl of course...we have more space to spare here!! (and We don't have to huddle close to keep warm!!)
field of expertise :-) Well you wouldn't want to deal with a fly struck sheep...like we had to upon our return from hols...in your Sunday best!
TThinking about fields...and my first learnt expertise (after walking and talking that is) being electronics and puns...did you hear the Torque about a Couple having a Moment in a Field? Only to be seen in our paddocks on a moonlit night tho:-)
A cheering up! After two fun weeks away with relatives in Tasmania for Christams and New Years...then returning to an heart renching abundance of weeds, a handful of favourite plant and pot breakages by the farm sitters, and two bitches on heat where Ike had his way when he was not meant to....your photos and comments are a cheerful reminder that it can be fun...with the good help like yours, which hard to find... even if it is a neverending story of jolly hard work. Thank you.
Merry Christmas! Your photos are fabulous! I've taken the liberty of forwarding your blog address to my brother Read and his wife Bev, because I know they'll enjoy the flora and fauna, and also your super comments! It's fun to see a little of what Christmas Down Under looks like - enjoy!

Just caught up on all your blogs, thank goodness you were able to download photos, they are wonderful. The fish and calla lily are perfect, will have to paint a few. Hope you have warmed up by now ( if thats possible HA ).It's a winter wonderland here, more snow last night. Merry Christmas.
It looks like the bird is squatting to take a dump in the second photo hahaha...and that terrible they eat chicks. I saw a clip from "March of the Penguins" where a baby penguin gets dragged and eaten by a big ugly hawk of some sort. They played it in a music store!
Anyway just thought I'd stop by and let you know that I watched a DVD on New Zealand last night...it was all about places you have been, woofing and interesting tourist things to do. It looks beautiful but the host was a bit of a dork.
Did you get the pictures I sent you via email?
Night Night.
I am doing a few weeks of voluntary work at an environmental learning centre in Central America. For gardening and teaching some local women some felting and other textile crafts, and to update the centre's website. It is a very interesting place, and the programmes are quite impressive. There are 8 volunteers here I think, two of us are twenty nine, and the rest are in their early to mid 20s.
The website does better justice to the huge undertaking this has been: http://www.learningcentercostarica.org/
