How was your experience with Itinerance Plus? I'm thinking of booking them for my trip Hi there. Lately I've been doing a lot of research of a good tour company to do my tour to Merzouga, from Marrakesh. I came across Itinerance Plus and they have some really good prices, comparing to the others. But I can't seem to find more info on them online ( nor even on trip advisor). Would mind sharing with me your take on them? Thank you so much :)
Marrakech Hi Kim,
Our overall experience with Itin Plus was very good. I'm guessing you read our blog entry from the trip. Since it was about 6 years ago, I'm foggy on the details, but I do remember the following:
Overall, the demographic is younger travellers or the hostel/backpacking set Basically aged from 20s to mid-30s. At the time, we were about 30 years old and were used to this type of travel, so it suited us fine. If you are in your 40s and up, travelling with kids, or used to luxe accommodations, this may not be for you. We actually stumbled upon this company. This is one of the few times our travels that we went along with something based on little to no research. Fortunately, our instincts were correct, and everything went well. As I recall, there were over a dozen companion travelers in our van. That seems like a lot, but I don't recall feeling uncomfortable or cramped in the van (I don't recall if there was A/C or not). The sites we saw (one of the gorges and Ait ben Haddou, as I recall) were great. The people we traveled with were awesome friendly people from all over the world. The accommodations were nothing fancy, but very spacious, clean and comfortable (if you are used to hostels, this will definitely be a big step up). Actually, our overnight at the Gorge, we enjoyed some live traditional music after dinner with the hotel staff who were some of the most friendly people I've ever met. The Berber folks conducting the camel trip were very nice as well, and there were comfortable Berber tents to stay in in the desert, but our entire group opted to camp under the stars. The food was good (though you may get tired of tagine and couscous). The only complaint I might have was that our driver (who we were with for hours of driving) was very serious and didn't talk much (probably due to the language barrier, but didn't even smile or interact with the french speakers). It was an amazing value. Keep in mind that this was 6 years ago, so who knows what has changed, but our experience was very positive. We took a bit of a risk, but it paid off. Please let me know if I can assist you further, and happy travels! Morocco is amazing!
thanks for the information Thank you so much, we were in marrakech and we found the itinerance plus people. we thought that maybe it was very dodgy, werent entirely sure (they dropped the price drastically) but it seems legit enough, read a few reviews although your experience was the best review. we go on the ,erzouga trip tomorrow at 7, but you have relaxed me, thank you
Interesting article! Hey! Was interesting reading your article. I thought it would be perfect for my forum. I am passionate about traveling and i believe traveling is for everyone. Which is why i figured it would be great if people who are passionate about traveling could share tips about traveling cheap, a site which would not be owned by some big company trying to tell you that budget traveling is about staying in a hotel room that costs US$ 100 per day!
Anyways, do check out my website www.BudgetTraveller.Info and i would love to have you contributing to it :) I think your experiences can make traveling better for tons of people around and i want to take budgetTraveller to a place where people would know that they would be able to find that information here! Thanks again...
Jim says "hey" Just reading about your adventures, Jim wanted me to tell you "hey". I am so enjoying living vicariously through your travels! Glad to see such a stylish ski hat, Cosi--was that on the original pack list??? Take care--Leslee

Hate you! :) As stated prior I was jealous of your travels, but his visit to Japan has done nothing but made me want to visit that much more. It looks amazing. I'm so happy that you guys are enjoying yourselves and doing what you wanted. May I be as lucky as you too one day. Take care Cosi and Aarron.
Hi Melissa Thanks for sending me your blog address. I cant wait to look at it. You and Chad HAVE to to visit Japan, it was beyond our expectations. Thanks for your message and talk to you soon.
Fun! Of all the places you guys have been, this is where I really want to go!! It looks so pretty and clean and there is so much cool stuff to do. Love all the pictures.
Our Clothes Hi L-Hug,
You will notice in the blog pictures that each of us only has four tops (and one fleece). Pretty sad, we know. We did buy a couple clothing items in South Africa and just bought a new going-out outfit apiece in Beijing, because clothes are so inexpensive there. We are probably going to ship back some of our "Africa Gear" clothes (the safari and desert stuff) to make more room. Thanks for the comments!
have you been clothes shopping? I am so enjoying reading about your journeys!! Thank you for sharing this unique experience. But, fess up, Cosmina, I don't believe you are still wearing the same clothes that you packed--you've been clothes shopping, haven't you?? Looking forward to the next blog entry.
Chad and baby Grant are doing great! Grant is growing like crazy and we all miss you guys. You'll have to head down to RI once you get home and settled!
Thanks, Brad! Wow, we're glad to get your comments. We're happy that other people (besides just family and friends) are reading the blog. Thanks for your compliments, and hope you keep reading it!
As we said, China is a great country ... and congratulations on a great Olympics, too!
Aaron and Cosmina
written beautifully! "Communist, my foot ... this is certainly capitalism at its best! "
I can not help laughing. you know, as an average chinese located in china I can not agree any more. so interesting to hear a foreigner's conclusion.
btw, you photo reallly well.
Thanks Christina! Your get well message is well appreciated. We did not manage to stay healthy in India... more details on the next blog.. but we did manage to get out alive. All the best wishes for you!
Thanks Kristen, Katie and Sarah! Thanks for the positive feedback. We just are working on the India post. We tried to be careful with what we ate in India, but I think diarrhea is in the air over there. And the spicy food doesn't help. And the heat, humidity, and terrible smelling trash-strewn streets. You get the picture. Take care!
Hi Bob We're doing well, and this is our last day in India. China is next, and we arrive in Beijing the day after the Olympics end (maybe we'll see some Olympians).
We did actually stay in touch with John Bartlett throughout South Africa, and he helped us quite a bit (got us a 20% discount at one hotel, actually). We never got to touch base with him in person because we were never in Jo-burg (except the airport), but he's a really nice guy and helped us out a lot.
We were only in Egypt for a few days, so we just stayed in Cairo. We didn't need much help getting around, so we didn't contact his assistant, and I know he was out of town anyway. I've been meaning to contact him by e-mail to thank him anyway.
Thanks again for putting me in touch with both of them. Hope you and the family are doing great. Keep in touch.
Regards, Aaron
Feel Better! Hi Guys- Hope you are feeling better! I have loved reading your blog, sounds like such an amazing trip. Can't wait to see what you do next :)
We're back in the United States and still shaking off the jet lag! We took a few months off from working to travel to many of the places in the world we've dreamed of visiting. It was an exhausting, exhilirating, exothermic whirlwind that still feels like an out-of-body experience to us. And we loved every minute of it (except perhaps the diarrhea).
We appreciate everyone -- family, friends, curious blog-browsers, and even the internet pervs--who checked out our blog this past year. It was a labor of love, and we appreciated the comments, e-mails, and general "... full info
