Leaving Korea was much more stressful than what we expected. The first challenge was to get everything in our bags, and, the “letting go of your darlings” so one will have space in your suitcases for all the new darlings. Secondly, the school told us at 9 o’clock, on the evening we are leaving Korea, that we owe them money for the gas, water and electricity. (we used since the last bill was paid, three days before) Thirdly, we finally made it to the Gumi Bus Terminal after saying good bye to fellow South Africans and there waiting for us was our school director “happy on so-ju” and a tearful manager - very sad because we were leaving.
