Awesome! Wow, it looks like you're having a great time, and haven't even gotten to Scotland yet. Your grandmother and I may have to do a similar trip sometime. Keep up the blogs!
Love the Cornish Pastie pic... and all the others too! I was taking one of those silly online quizzes, and it had a Cornish Pastie as one of the choices for what your high school lunchroom served. LOL Anyway, I immediately thought of you when I saw it. :-) Deana
Love all your pics!!! I'm glad you're having so much fun in England! You're right, it's a very different place at night! Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament are so pretty at night reflecting on the Thames. I'm glad you got to see Westminster Abbey, too. I really enjoyed the tour we took of it when we were there. So many famous people are buried there. I'm glad you're enjoying so many delicious meals! Please start posting pics of the food to make us all even more jealous of your trip! ;-) I love the 2 staring sheep, too! Keep enjoying your amazing trip! And thanks for sharing it with us on this blog. I really like reading all about your adventures. :-) Deana
Hey! Hey Alexis! I love following your trips!!! Ireland is beautiful, isn't it! You're going to several of my favorite places this summer! London is the best (in my opinion) because of its rich history. However, I've always wanted to visit Wales, too. And for years, my students and I have watched several webcams in Ireland and even know the names of some of the farmers' sheep that often appear on one of them. Did you know that Kandice Crawley is spending a month in London and Paris, too? Her mom (who is my principal) posted a pic of Kandice in Paris last weekend while she (her mom) was in New Orleans at the Cafe Du Monde with the caption "same difference, right." Anyway, that would be neat if you two ended up running into one another in Europe. Anyway, I would imagine you're sleeping very well after eating the best burger ever! It made my stomach growl to read your description! In London, I really enjoyed Madam Tussaud's Wax Museum, and of course seeing the Crown Jewels at the Tower of London. If you get the chance, visit Althorp House to see Princess Diana's exhibit. I think this is the last year it's going to be open. Last year, her brother announced he would close it this year. I saw the traveling exhibit a few years ago, and it was fascinating to see! Have a beautiful day! And "mind the gap" (you're about to hear that a bazillion times if you take the underground in London). :-) Deana
I've seen all of her posts about being in Paris! I am so excited and I will definitly have to check out those places! I'm glad you are enjoying the posts!

Enjoyed your blog I read every one of your blogs and enjoyed them immensely, perhaps because I am a solo traveler myself and can identify with many of the experiences you talked about. Especially the part about dragging around a heavy suitcase. Happy traveling on the rest of your trip : )
sorry about that guy Sorry to hear about your experience with that guy. Just a hint. I have found that one of the best security measures for a woman alone is to pretend to be talking to someone on their cell phone (or actually do so). They don't know if your phone works or not or if you are describing them to a friend or the police. Let them see that you are looking at them as you "talk" on your phone.
Happy travels : )
That is a great tip. I didn't think of that at the time, but I will be sure to keep it in mind if something like that happens again. Hopefully it won't though!
Enjoying your blog I'm enjoying your blog and experiences. I'm planning on going to Greece again in the Fall and reading your blogs has convinced me that I will have to visit Spain for a bit on the way. Happy travels : )
Thank you! Spain is a beautiful country. I wanted to go to Greece, but was not able to on this trip. Hopefully I can make my way over there next summer!
facinating blog I spent 7 months in Europe last year traveling around and mostly staying in hostels. It is interesting hearing of pretty much the same situations from a woman's perspective. I can fully appreciate the comments about lugging the suitcase around and being a bit lost in a strange city and trying to find your way to the hostel or figure out bus schedules. You certainly had better luck than me in finding delicious food to eat. After reading some of your blogs I may make Spain part of my itinerary this Fall. I am currently exploring the Rocky Mountains in the US now. I invite you to check out my blogs. Perhaps you can glean some useful information from them on good hostels in various locations and etc. if your travels take you to some of the places I went last year. Happy travels : )
Thanks William! I'll definitely check out your blog. I have to start planning next years travels! I didn't get to eat all the kind of places I wanted to because I was on a budget. If you have time, I would suggest stopping in Portugal. It is one of my favorites. If you are just going to Spain, definitely check out Salamanca. It was one of my favorite places in Spain!
I was 10 the first time I left America and started to see the world. Now, at the age of 20, I can't stop traveling. I love to experience different cultures while seeing the beautiful world. I constantly have pen and paper ready to tell stories about my amazing adventures. I'm starting my first solo trip, but I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me.... full info
