Derby
Is the restaurant on the pier still open? We were there in Oct 2008 and it was for sale then. Had an awesome seafood treat. As opposed to others, we enjoyed our short stay in Derby.

i have a turtle
Hi Chloe, great to read your going on's. I like the top ten entries, keep this section up. Vegemite had a sleep over at Brenda's last night cause Dad and Trailer came home and Dad just couldn't resist. It's ok with me just this once cause I was working a back to back so I wouldn't have seen him the whole time anyway. The trick is getting Dad to give him back...at least in the mean time he is having fun frolicking at the beach with Trailer (can you imagine Trailer frolicking..!!). Love you lots, Mia xxx

Hi Chloe
Hi Chloe, Great to hear things are going well. Sounds like you have slipped into a nice circle of friends and are taking full advantage of the relaxed lifestyle. Jetty fishing sounds like a great way to watch the sun set. Keep the blogs coming - even if we don't always post a reply, it is nice to know you are safe and well. Sarah has booked her flight to London for 10 April and is looking forward to gaining some life experience living and working there. Adam is waiting for his new Aust passport so he can apply for a Canadian work visa. Seems like all the kids (and Brenda) have exotic places to go to. Oh well - maybe if I win this Saturday's $20 million lotto I can join all the jet setters. Take care, love, Pat.

Good to hear from you.
Hello Chloe. I so enjoyed reading your blog and I'm so happy that you have set up home so well. It looks lovely and I especially love the mango tree. We purchased a big box of broome mangoes after Xmas for 50 bucks. They were delicious and kept well in the fridge. So you are a lucky girl to have a whole tree. Looking forward to hearing about your class. How many kiddies and what age? Chloe you are so brave and I wish you lots of luck. Keep in touch. Much love Carol. Ps pleased you survived the cyclone. We were in Mandurah this weekend during the cyclone and the weather was fantastic. The water was like glass I just love it down there. Sorry we missed you this Xmas holiday.

wishing you well
Hey Chloe, Great to see you made it safely to your new abode. I will still enjoy your blogs and try my best to keep in touch. You are going to have an absolutely amazing experience there, I just know it! Enjoy absolutely every high and low it has to offer. Can't wait to hear about your teaching. Kylee and I are a team this year and I am very very excited. I think she is a brilliant teacher and I know the two of us will feed off each other's strengths. She and Joe came for tea last week and stayed till one in the morning. I have the feeling that we are going to enjoy some good times as a team together. It's been a wonderful and adventurous summer- heaps of crabbing, crayfishing, waterskiing (both RAH and Lainee can ski now), tubing, boogie boarding, fishing and kayaking. I should really be much thinner with all this activity, although the butter, bread and margaritas have probably not helped the matter. My time with my sister was truly cherished and the goodbye was even worse this year. I know you hold family and friends dear to you and understand what I'm talking about. Sorry I missed you, although I know your time on the farm would have been precious. Keep in tough my friend and stay beautiful! Love Kathie

Vege says hello
Hi Chloe. Mia and I have just returned from a sojurn to Voyage. Vege joined us. Almost as exciting as what you are doing. NOt!!!! He must know we are writing to you - Mia is sitting beside me in the study - as he is barking. Probably saying hello to you and asking if you remember him. His renewal for registration came today. It is due on Oct 31. Shall I renew it, or see if it can be transferred to Derby Shire? Also, your HBF is due on Nov 17. Do you want me to pay that? How boring, to be thinking of these things when you are enjoying all that Africa has to offer! All my love, Mum. Mia sends you her love too.

Slipping Sun
Hello my darling. I love the way you phrase things. It is great to have your blogs coming again. You make your adventures sound so wonderful and write in such a way that I can almost experience them.... well not really, but at least I can picture you. The photos are fabulous and really help me picture you insitu! We have just finished having coffee at the farm. Kent, Swee, grandma, dad and I. It rained lightly this morning. 1ml so far. Not much, but better than another day like yesterday, where it was 34 and a very hot wind blowing, which was of course very drying to what is left of the crop. dad is keeping his spirits up and hopes to get 3 or 4 bags to the acre from the wheat and barley, but has written off the canola and lupins. I love you with all my heart. Will get Mia to help me put Kota Kinabalu photos onto Facebook so you can see some. Take care my darling. Enjoy those magic moments! Mum.

Coincidences again!
Hi Chloe, I am amazed at the coincidences you have on your trips. It really is a small world!! I am so happy that you are enjoying being back on the road again. I was thinking it is a lucky thing that you have an adventure awaiting you in Derby next year, as I think you would have found it very difficult to settle back into an 'ordinary' routine in Falcon or Perth. It was weird for me coming home to your absence though. I miss your company! I met Mia at work today and we had lunch at Voyage. Lovely. The ocean was so blue and shimmering. I love you my darling. Be safe. Mum

sorry u r leaving DCPS
Hey Chloe, Nice to hear you recharging your body and soul at home. It will have done you the word of good and I wish you all the best in your new adventures. I will look forward to reading all about it on your blog. Sorry to hear you are leaving us at school ,but I take my hat off to you. The best adventures are the ones with a challenge. Greg and I travelled for 4 years around Austrlalia and Europe(mind you that was 20 years ago) but we are full of smiles when we think back about them. Have fun and always look at the big picture.Love and hugs Esther

Yay Sisi! Glad to hear your smile through your words. So glad everything is going well and you are enjoying your trip. It may be that Africa is easier than China....?! I forgot to ask you about the fish oil tablets you give Veg...where are they and how do you give them to him? He is doing fine and being a very good boy. Love you, hope to speak soon. Welcome Home Miss Pond!
You are home!! Wow, what an experience China was, and yes, just like you said, you survived it. You did use your resources and I think you learned the ultimate travelling lesson. Wherever you are in life and in the world, you are never truly alone unless you desire to be. I look forward to giving you a massive hug- have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blogs and living vicariously through your incredible stories. Your writing has been so vivid and I really have adventured with you all the way. I knew that God would watch over you- you are very blessed! See you soon, love Kathie

What a story
Chloe I just read your last blog and I am amazed at your strength of character. To turn even the most terrible situation into a positive... I take my hat off to uou. God was surely looking after you and it restores ones faith in humanity to read how strangers helped you. To end let me say how pleased I sm that you are home and I'm sure your family will treasure your company till you leave us on your next adventure. Much love Carolxxx

Ahh Chloe you almost have me in tears, whilst it seems you had many dilemmas it seems you also have some very positive memories and great things to say about the Chinese people. Seems like a welcoming place... though i still dont plan to go there. Enjoy your time at home. xxx

Character building.
And you wonder why I don't want to travel O.S. anymore? I remember in Russia, back in '75, the van broken down, couldn't get parts into the country, couldn't get food, - but that was another time, another place. Love Dad.

Mia's birthday
Hi darling, I can't believe it is one year since we celebrated Mia's birthday in Rome. She reminded me of this fact when I went to her home before school this morning. Next year when it is her birthday, you will be remembering the fact that you were in Pai!!! I wonder where you will be and what you will be doing then??? Am so glad you and Lisa enjoyed the rafting and only have bruises from it.... when Mike and Chris went to Bali with Mike's brother, Rob badly injured his arm and/or shoulder and it wrecked their trip somewhat! I have heaps of marking to do, so I must go. All my love,Mum.
