WELL YOUR CERTAINLY IN THE "OUT BACK" OF AUSTRALIA. !! I FOUND IT ALL VERY INTERESTING AND I LOVED THE PHOTOS. I TRY TO KEEP UP WITH WEATHER REPORTS IN THAT PART OF AUST. BUT I CAN'T SAY I HEAR TO MUCH, SO I PRESUME THERE IS NOTHING EXCITING ON THE WEATHER FRONT. I DID HEAR SOMETHING ABOUT DARWIN HAVING A 40C DAY JUST RECENTLY AND THOUGHT THAT PERHAPS YOU WERE WISE TO GIVE DARWIN A MISS !!! SAFE TRAVELS. LOVE MUM.

I'm so jealous!! That all looks gorgeous! I have teacher friends in Alice ( used to be at Punmu and Kunawarritji Well 33 Ragsie) so a pity you will have gone thru by now. Bush-mechanic-tech-head too. You guys would have got along well. Ha ha. All sounds soooooo good -esp the damper and red wine around the fire. Bliss. Travel safely. Xx

SOME OF THE TOWN NAMES SOUND VERY FAMILIAR TO ME AND I'M WONDERING IF I WENT THERE AS A CHILD WITH MUM AND DAD WHEN DAD WAS A TRAVELLING SALESMAN !! ENJOYED READING THIS BLOG. BROUGHT BACK LOTS OF MEMORIES. DO YOU THINK THE CENTRAL MARKETS ARE AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN IT USED TO BE ? THERE'S NOT MUCH LEFT OF THE OLD TELEGRAPH STATION, IS THERE ? Response to questions
The boys were on the track for about 10 days but Rags said that if he were to do it again he would allow more time to enjoy it more. You can't rely on getting any drinking water on the track. He says there was some at one place but it is unreliable. ~Judy

Provisioning
Thought about ordering provisions online in advance of getting to port? We ordered all ours for six people for a week (including drinks) and had them delivered to the boat free of charge at Airlie. Beats pushing trolleys! Fair winds and calm seas!

We first backpacked in Eastern Europe in 2001 visiting Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia & Italy. In 2002 we spent the whole 12 months backpacking around the world.
