Mexico Are We Crazy! Maybe just a Little!! From the very beginning stages of planning everyone keeps asking if we are crazy. The Mexicans I know seem to be the most mystified at why I would want to go to Mexico with the current violent situation. However since I am not planning on meeting up with any Drug Cartels or visiting anyone in prison I think I can safely say no one is interested in us and taking the usual travel precautions we should be just fine. I have to say so far probably the most shocking of this trip is that I was able to use Continental Frequent Flier miles during the Holidays!! Albeit I had to fly into Mexico City and use some extra miles for an upgrade to first class on the ... read more

Aloha Everyone! Have had quite a bit of things going on around here. Friend came from home and stayed a week we had so much fun! It was nice to have someone to hang out with. Most of the time we were car less but kept busy with the beach, bikes, bus. In fact I am exhausted LOL. We were invited to a very big event from our Hawaiian neighbors. Their niece had a baby last year and to mark the first birthday here in Hawaii they throw quite the Party! This is called a baby Luau which they wait until the first birthday has passed to celebrate. This come from old Hawaii ways (and many other poorer cultures do) is wait until after the first year of a child's life before making a big deal ... read more

Aloha Everyone! I hear there is a huge heat wave going on. Nice 85 here as usual. Had some rain which is always welcome and of course the tradewinds which never seem to stop. Haven't done too much since last post but had some new pictures so thought they might be fun to put up. Rick and I went to Chinatown this past weekend (before heading to favorite Tiki Bar! LOL) for some Acupuncture. This market is pretty quiet and small compared to SF but still the sights and sounds and not to be forgotten Ever are the smells of Chinatown. It is interesting and kind of fun to get lost in. A great place to people watch and shop for fish and produce. The market in the early morning is suppose to be really hopping ... read more

Aloha everyone! Hope your all having a great summer! Hot and sunny here with a nice breeze, sometimes too much but what can you do without the breeze it would be awful. The days have been lazy for me here in Kailua. However I have been getting up early everyday and hitting the beach for a morning walk. It is so different at 6:00 am before all the family picnics and tourists arrive. At this time in the morning it is just us walkers, runners and a few brave kite boarders out enjoying the sunrise. You see so many different kinds of dogs as well. I must say it is nice to seeing the same smiling faces every morning walking by and just enjoying that moment, nodding our heads at each other with no words really ... read more

Kailua Bound Getting ready to meet up with Rick in Oahu more specifically Kailua. So for the next two months I am going to explore, snorkel, check out the cuisine on the island of Oahu. So for any of you future Hawaiian travelers I will pass along any information I find, hopefully some useful travel tips, possibly some good restaurants to try or not to try, even an occasional food truck/plate lunch thrown in. Well here I am in Kailua Hawaii. It has been really warm here but as beautiful as ever. Thank goodness foir the breeze or it would be just too hot! Not complaining mind you just pointing it out. I must say I am so surprised about how many people come to Hawaii in the summer. I always consider this a winter ... read more

Welcome to another blog from your Wandering Gal, I am so looking forward to sharing my next adventure with anyone that is interested enough to read it! You will never guess where I am if you knew me at all. Up to this point I have tried to have to use a passport on any trip and the further the better. But you know what they say about exploring your own backyard first. So I have embarked on a journey to a less exotic place but a warm region, english is the language here but there is lots of diversity of culture everywhere, enough with the suspence I am in southern California my homesbase will be Oceanside, I must confess I am a Californis Native so it shouldn't be to different, wrong I am from Northern ... read more

Well I made it home. No matter how many times you take that flight it just doesn't get any shorter. But having survived another one I am sure to do it agin in the future. I must say after being away for almost six weeks hitting American soil is such a rush! Everything seems so civilised here. It is amazing to me how much we take for granted. To walk outside and smelling the clean air, or to seeing all the cars driving in an organized way meaning within the lines. Then culture shock the other way sets in. Walking into your own home with a closet of clean clothes, opening a refridgerator and taking out a carton of milk or pouring your own juice just the most mundane things take on a new meaning when ... read more

Hey everyone thanks for all the comments. Sorry I haven't responded but I didn't know what those were. I thought it was just telling me how many people looked at it. LOL Anyway I am still in Bali until Tuesday when I fly home. Soaking up as much sunshine as I can. I have done a few thing since my last post like an All day bike tour, a few more massages (not in quite like the other spa lbut still very nice). Feeling a little under the weather today so thought I would just throw up some PICs and a few words. The bike trip was so much fun. First I got picked up on a motorbike and driven about 25 mins into mountains to meet up with a small group. They put us in ... read more

Where do I begin! In the last week I have done som many different things I won't mention them all just some highlights and let pictures tell my story. Last blog I mentioned I was off to the Spa well let me tell you what a Great expierence that was. I went to the Verona Spa here in Ubud and it was so nice after 4 hours of pampering i felt like a queen. First I was shown my room which had a great view of the Rice Paddies with lots of Ducks running around. The sound of nature was amazing like a symphony of different sounds of insects and birds and wind blowing through the palms that helped shield the room. I was given and 75 minute massage then exfoliated with wonderful smelling things. She ... read more

Well after having spent a few days here I am starting to get the reason why people love it here. The people are very nice and will always welcome you with a smile and a Hello. I really am happy with my move to the second hotel Ubud Terrace as it puts me much nearer everything. It so clean and quiet. The garden is beautiful and well maintained. I go into my room in the afternoon and they have place flowers everywhere, the steps, the sink, the nightstand, the light fixtures unbelievable. They wear flowers in their hair Men and women, they embrace the natural beauty surrounding them which is so wonderful and refreshing. The last few days I have been doing some exploring with a driver and alone. I told you last time I was ... read more
