It's been a long time coming... After a 10 hour flight from San Francisco to Frankfurt, an 8 hour layover in Frankfurt, and a 3 1/2 hour flight from Frankfurt to Tel Aviv, I finally made it into the American Colony Hotel in Jerusalem at about 4:30 A.M. Sunday morning, Aug. 1. Alas, no rest for the weary this day as it's officially Day 1 and time's a wastin'. The driver showed up right on time at 9 A.M. to pick me up for my first day of sight-seeing - the Old City of Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Outside the main entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem.
