We awoke at around 8 I believe, and got ready to head out. We rode the metro to see the Arc de Triomphe. Our daughter wanted to see all the sights that she had seen 11 years before. After getting the photos, we walked down Avenue Kleber towards the Trocadero. We were on the lookout for a place to eat lunch, and found that in a place called Chez Zhong. We had a great meal, served by a very nice staff. It was then just a short walk down to the Trocadero for the Eiffel Tower photo ops. Delta had begun a nonstop flight from Indianapolis to Paris, and this would be our first ride on it. It is so convenient to not have to connect anywhere! We planned on maybe visiting another place in Europe, but our daughter really wanted to see Paris again. She had only been once, and it was in 2007. We decided to just visit Paris, and the weather was amazing! For this trip, we were going to be doing something we had not done in a long time. That is fly in coach on a long haul flight. This day we decided to do the Manitoba Museum. I was not expecting much, but the museum exceeded my expectations. We got a taxi downtown and toured the museum. It was well laid out, and very interesting. Definitely my type of place with a lot of hands on exhibits. After the museum, we went and had lunch at a small deli downtown. After lunch we did a little walking around and headed back to the hotel in the early evening via taxi. We wanted to get something unique for dinner, but since there was nothing close, we did not know what. The hotel suggested Salisbury House, and said it was a short walk. In December of 2017, we had taken my father into our home since he was having early stages of dementia. We were wanting to take him on an easy trip. We had taken to Atlanta for a few days in May, and he enjoyed it. I have always wanted to visit Winnipeg, and the flight loads were great for stand by travel. We flew from Indianapolis to Minneapolis on Delta Connection 5460, a CRJ-900 aircraft, and all 4 of us sat in first class. Our connection was Delta Connection flight 5340, and it was the same CRJ-900 that we had flown up on. We all had the same first class seats as well. I awoke at around 6:30am. I knew the sunrise was at about 7am, so I wanted to start early. I dressed and left for the Malecon. The temperatures were very low for Cubans, but I was fine in just a t-shirt. I think they said it was down to the 50s overnight. The wind was causing some very heavy surf, and the waves were crashing over the Malecon wall. I walked up and down the area, and then went up to the Capitolio.
