ohhhhhhhh I feel for you! I got sick on my last trip, I know how miserable you must of been. there's no place like home when you feel like ----.
You must be about ready to pack up. I'm sure it must seem like it has gone fast, and then it seems like you have been ther a long time.
Have a safe trip back!
Rene
Life in Africa so different than america. you are a gutsy gal! glad you're having so many different experiences. do you study too?? :) thinking of you.
Happy Birthday!!!!! I tried to add this to my last comment but before I knew it, the comment was sent.....HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!
And being your mother......DO NOT DRINK TOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!
"ultimate souvenir" I had to write a comment because this blog entry doesn't have any comments yet. You are encouraged to leave the ultimate souvenir there in Ghana. This trip doesn't sound as exciting as your others but between luxury transportation arrangements and everyone getting ill, it would be hard to have a good time.
and..............
LOL Vanessa,
You made me LOL, and more than once. I will no longer consider you a "city girl"! What terrific adventures you are having, you are so very blessed to be able to experience this way of life. Keep enjoying every adventure you can, that is what your memories are going to be made of.
Love, Rene
nice talking to you It was great talking to you the other day. It sounds like you are really enjoying all the great adventures you have been on. I am so impressed on your attitude... you really take the "big" stuff light! When you come back home you are going to be excited and feel blessed for the little things like hot running showers, toilets, a nice mattress and pillows.
enteraining Vanesa, Keep your blogs coming. I really enjoy them and missed the last couple of weeks without them. You are an excellent writer. I think you may have missed your calling in life.....Teenie
made me laugh These days we can all use a good laugh and this entry made me laugh. The reference to Ted's cows......too, too funny!!! I'm glad you had such a good trip and I love the way you write about it. I miss you but it always makes me feel good to hear how much fun you are having and what a rich experience this is for you.
Awesome trip You're trip sounds like a blast. Hiking is such a great hobby. That's one thing I miss about the cov. Sandals in nature sounds like a bad idea altogether. The water fall must have looked insane. All in all, this was a most excellent blog. Watch those ants babe. By the way, a goat noise is called a bleat, heh.
animals Vanessa - your travels sound so awesome. Unfortunately I understand the sick thing - and I am in America, believe me, I've used some nasty bathrooms with plumbing! As for the animals, I don't blame you for not trusting the goat. It would be just my luck that it would steal an article of my clothing. Roosters - I hate them. Ask Sara. I have also been chased previously at Gram's. I feel your pain and reluctance to enjoy the "caw"ing - they crow "cock-a-doodle-doo". Keep enjoying yourself!
Pretty sweet adventure. It sounds like your project at the orphanage was a nice thing to do. I'm glad you chose to be part of the group. This shows the giving side of yourself. The kids will love to see you once again; the same goes for me as well. Hopefully you won't catch another bug the next time around. Keep doing what you do!
Hey girl! It's great to hear how willing you are to explore and try new things. Hanging out with the kids seems so rewarding. I do feel sorry for you though, when you get around the Weisners you're going to have a million questions and probably going to have to repeat the same story over and over. (jk) I think I would definately have a room full before talking - hahaha. Can't wait to hear more!

Wow, how interesting! Hey Vanessa, I've been catching up on your blogs this afternoon. Truly enjoying them. I can't believe you have no warm/hot water for showers. Everything seems so laid back there, wish it was like that here. You look amazing in your photos, you are going to be very thin living on rice and chicken, I could eat that every day also.
The resort photo was beautiful and I can't believe you are so brave to commit to this. You are truly accomplished. And I'm recommending "SURVIVOR" when you are finished. Bet you'd have great chance to win. Take care! Racheal
Everyday she's hustlin, every everyday she's hustlin Sounds like your adventure was pretty hip. It's good to know you scored some nice fabric at a lower price. I can't wait to see the sculptures you bought. You should definitely check out the village in the trees. If you go to monkeyland just make sure you don't get bit. I can't wait to see what happens next. <3
WOW Hey vanessa..just checked out all the blogs up to date and I must say that it seems like it's a pretty intense experience. Those pics that you uploaded were amazing...I def want a house on Anomabo Beach it looks awesome...hope all is well. See you soon.

Donna: This blog is awesome Vanessa, your Mom gave me your blog info and I have really enjoyed keeping up with your studies in Ghana. The pictures are great and it looks like the canopy walk was awesome; however, I do not know if I would have been brave enough for that experience. I am so happy you are enjoying this semester studying abroad. I will keep you in my prayers that all continues to go well. Reading your blog gave me the feeling that I was experiencing all of this myself. WOW!
cool! I love reading your blogs. They are so interesting. In school each classroom has to study at country and then represent it at out school olympics. I may switch and have you help me out with some cool pictures and info - if you are okay with that. Continue having fun and I really hope your mom does not have chicken and rice for you! haha

wow Vanessa,
I am really enjoying your Blog. Such a way of life that we can't imagine. You are very fortunate to be able to experience this. It still amazes me that Ghana was your choice, but I see that it was a very wise choice for you. Keep up the narrative, and the pictures. You do an excellent job at writing and explaining. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Rene
I dig the pics Wow, you just experienced something that many will never. Walking on top of the rainforest must have been pretty intense. I'm glad had fun doing the hike. The castle looked old school. You're turning into quite the adventerous one. Hurray for warm water and paper towels! You should have knicked a few for the return home. On the next trip, don't get eatin by any of the animals. I don't want to end up going crazy.
lovin' your blog I'm eating lunch and checked and was surporised to see you updated this since your internet was not working well last we talked. I am thoroughly enjoying your blog. I get more details from this than from our brief conversations. And I love your sense of humor. My favorite line in this post..."We had hot water, and toilet paper, and fresh towels. Pretty snazzy." So glad you are enjoying this experience so much! My friend Susan said she would have bailed out before the first day was over. Keep up all the details. I hope your cold is better.
school days The no water situation kinda reminds me of last year when I didn't have it for like 3 weeks. My old roommates wouldn't pay their share, so I had to bum showers from friends. Don't feel pressured in the class. The others are probably not used to seeing the people from where the standards of psychology were established. Have fun at the park, don't get eaten by some wild animal.
