Lisbon Bridges Is the Vasco de Gama bridge on the A12 open yet, it should offer miles and miles of views of the city & river...
Love the tram, driver was probably "train"ed in London.
On the perils of believing that modern technology actually works. You might need to reset your sat-nav for car or RV. It probably auto-reset to "mountain goat" once it realised you had entered the Basque region. You're probably lucky you didn't meet Michael Caine and his coach full of gold coming the other way. The fat barman in the football shirt seems to have brothers all over the world in every resort bar with footy on't telly.
Hard to tell! We have just arrived in Tirgo, Spain in the Rioja region (oh no more wine tasting!!!!). With snow on the mountains and the blackest looking clouds we pulled up to the site we were planning to use and promptly headed to a B and B for the night, nothing worse than a soaking tent and Mammoth. The current plan, is to head to Segovia and then into Portugal, like yourselves we have several back up plans and have spent a few days driving forever and seeming to go no where.
You seem to be on the same route as us! Woolly was very excited to read your blog and wonders if you are following us? We loved the St Emillion area not to mention the wine tasting!
We're hoping to head to Salamanca tomorrow morning, yesterday we had a bit of an odd day: driving for hours but not really getting anywhere so we had to find an emergency campsite just south of Vitoria. We're staying here a couple of nights so we can plan the next stage properly (with back up places to stay incase the first ones don't work out!!). What's your route?
We need a bigger map stop camping on the join in our map... Took ages to find, had to resort to google earth. Hope you took some shots of the farm. Didn't you want to take VanB round Le Mans??
ADAC the saviours! hello! love the blog, it all sounds much nicer than boring old Watford! glad you signed up with ADAC eh! what a 'mare!
enjoy the next stage of your travel x
