Map error & spelling errors. The content of this page indicates Uhthoff Trail follows an abandoned railway; which is correct. The map shows trail follows Hwy12 which is not correct.

Simpatico! I am just thrilled to have your notes. We are devoted to southern Italy. We live in a lovely suburb of Cleveland. If you have ever wanted to see what Cleveland is all about, please consider contacting us about a hosting arrangement. We would love to share notes about Italy in person. After twenty trips we can't get enough and are planning one month next spring in the south. Thank you for taking the time to do your post--so very inspiring! Lew and Diane Schwartz
Calabria Puglia Hello
You likely forgot that you posted a comment on my Calabria, Puglia 2012 travel blog one year ago. As you can see I don't check the comments section too often! Really great to find someone else in love with southern Italy. Have you seen my update from October 2013? And we have just booked for Sept 2 to Oct 1 of this year ... once again Puglia and Calabria.
Thank you for your comments and sorry for not replying sooner.

Hi just happened on this link of your trip! Looks and sounds wonderfull! My great grandfather came fro Ciro, italy, and it has beed very hard to get any info on him. He was to say the least a very Secretive man.My uncle has been following his little known trail but it seems to end there. it would be helpfull if we could get some help or input on how to find the local Ciro information. Any advise if you have it would be extremely helpful ! Thank you !
sorry for delay sorry for delay as I do not check the comments portion too often. I wish I could offer some help. We have stayed in Ciro Marina twice, and I don't know if that is the same as Ciro.
There are many calabria websites and if you can write any Italian, simply posting on some of those sites might get you replies. My own little town of Tiriolo in Calabria has a number of active sites. Use google search to the hilt and you might be surprised as to what you will find.
Good luck
completing trail circuit 2. Your error was turning at Hillcrest st. Again the secret is the double wide sidewalk. Follownit to Greenville West drive and stay with it til at the apartments behind Meijer and again join the blacktop trail turning left.
completing trail circuit. When not on blacktop trail follow double wide sidewalk along Westside Drive, through business area, tunnel under M 57, past Meijers to apartment complex and rejoin blacktop trail into open area leading to Baldwin Beach, then circle the lake left to end of one way section, turn left follow road to park and mile zero starting point. This is traveling counter clockwise around trail. Clock wise is reversed except you circle Baldwin Lake clockwise. I ride this trail daily.

thanks for sharing, taking time to organize it so nicely, and pictures! This is very useful for me in planning our own trip this summer. i probably will also share some of my trip experience.
Tay Shore Trail The writer's comments about this excellent trail are very true! Having biked often in Kincardine (Boiler Rd) and in Niagara Falls, this is the best of them all! Its smooth surface runs through one of the prettiest areas in Ontario, with trees lining both sides, and vistas of Georgian Bay offering lots of photographic opportunities. In general, pedestrians, roller bladers and cyclists are friendly and courteous. A fine trail, indeed!
not tennessee river Hi
the bridge does not cross a river so it is not the tennessee river brigde. I forget the name! I guess I really should name it on the photo! Will try to do that
Life is short... go do this! We biked this about a month ago and it was a great trip. Such an array of plants, wildlife, history, and adventures. Alot of Indian mounds, informative signage, nice weather during September, and not too many cars.
If you are sitting on the fence trying to decide if this is a trip you should do or not, I would tell you to go do this and experience a beautiful part of America.
Camping Adventure!! I really enjoyed reading all your updates. It sounds like so much fun and adventure. I can't believe that the Pecos River still look the same after years of not coming back to that place. This year, my husband and I plan to have a fun time together with the kids. I think we'll drop by there before going on Texas Campgrounds where we plan to spend most of the time.
Warm regards,
Angela

I love to travel and try to avoid large cities and superhighways. My favourite places to travel are Europe which I have covered from Finland to Sicily and Portugal to the Czech Republic many times. My favourites are Spain, Slovenia and Italy all of which have received 3 to 10 visits. Only the most recent trips to Southern Italy are presented here. Puglia (the heel) has become our favourite region with a visit pretty well every year during the last 7 years revisiting favourite beaches, b&b families, Masseria, and small villages of Puglia and Calabria (the toe) Detailed information on... full info
