Not my label Hi, just checking back on my blog. The label "bad beer of the month" came from the Chicago bar we were in. It wasn't my opinion at all, I found the beer quite refreshing.
Bad Beer? I am from Stevens Point, Wisconsin originally and I just wanted to make a comment about your selection as Point Special "Bad Beer of the Month". I lived within two blocks of that brewery. I don't agree. I am in Tulsa OK now, and every time I go home people that have never been up there ask me to bring them 6-packs and cases back for them. They are pretty much willing to pay whatever for them too. I completely respect your opinion, but I can't figure out how it gained that title in your picture captions. Interesting site you have though. Hope you have a great time traveling the US. Looks like a blast.
More Info Chong Kulukulu When in Sigatoka ...go to the place where they rent boards and speak to Chong...3rd generation chinese and a big smoker...he has a homestay...much better deal than Club Masa...I stayed with Chong and Loma for 3 weeks and had a great time..3 meals a day and all the weed in the world. This is where all the local surfers live, Paul and Tommy...the main honcho is called Malcolm...big Fijian man but Chong essentially runs the place...watch out for a man called Dougie...he is the local dune rolling champ...best place you could go in Fiji....real living...Stay in Club masa if you please but they struggle with cooking since they are only young lads running the place...Chong and Loma and angels ....hay Loma is lunch ready....hey fiji Time chinny...go smoke a joint and get an appetite it'll be ready soon! the Life
Soon to be "Dollar General" I was just doing a search and found this site. The "lanes" have supposedly been sold. The owner died last year. The rumor has it that "Dollar General" has bought it. I have lived in Bolivar for 44 years, my entire life. I hate to see all the old places go. Great pictures!!!

Lisbon earthquake I remember (vaguely) someone did a Penn State Dept. of Geog. Coffee Hour talk about that Lisbon earthquake and how the news traveled through Europe at the time.
Thanks for sharing your travels with us.
Renoir/Renoir Actually it's a juxtaposition of the Impressionist painter with the movie director of the New Wave movement of the same last name.
And don't even get me started on Truffaut.
Renoir Renoir Jean Renoir was the son of Auguste, the impressionist painter. His films are some of the best ever made; in many regards he is the French version of Orson Welles.
francais Cory, why don't you go around wearing a beret, a sideways-striped shirt, a neck-bandana, and an "American" cigarette? You could argue the point of Derrida's "Of Grammatology" with an Algerian dissident!
My fav ex-pat place in the WORLD is Shakespeare and Company...very close to Notre Dame, on the Left Bank, I think on a corner.
White Stripes in Paris Cool--going to The Eternal City to check out White Stripes: that's serious indie cred right there. Would that be more or less cool than me checking out Marah at a disco in suburban Barcelona??
Be sure to check out my spatially-enabled blog (or geoblog if that's to you're liking). For this I'm using Google Earth. Read all about it here:
We're taking the long road to Denver. I'm relocating from Southern California with my girlfriend Sherry. When I say the long way, I mean really long. We're driving across the USA, then down the East Coast to Atlanta. After that, we're off on an around-the-world trip, to Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, SE Asia...
We'll be traveling for about three months.
We can't wait! I hope you enjoy our stories and photos...!
