Fine Camel Specimen
Yes, he was a fine looking camel. I just felt terrible that he had a rope tied around his lower lip. He had trouble keeping up with camel who was in the lead so the rope was constantly rubbing and pulling his lower lip.

Amen
That is what happened to us and why we decided that Casablanca was our least favorite stop. We, Linda Grissom, Pam and I, refused to pay the extra when the taxi dropped us off at the ship. I felt bad but now I don't. Thanks for relieving my guilt.

Rome Recommendations
Hello Jolita, Yes, Rome can be quite expensive, but it doesn't have to be. Make sure you look at the menu before deciding where to eat. They are used to people doing this and it does not seem strange. If you just want coffee or a snack, stand at the bar rather than sitting and you will pay a lot less. I did not take any tours. I did a lot of walking, which is one way to get some great pictures. You will see small things you wouldn't see if you are on a tour or a bus or metro. I was also trying to walk off all the great food and gelato! I have only been to Rome and Ostia Antica which is only about 25 km from Rome. I haven't been anywhere else in Italy. I have one friend in Genoa and she loves it there and says there are many, many sites to see near Genoa. Get a Lonely Planet Italy and just go. I don't think you will be disappointed by anything in Italy. Hope this helps. Mary

About Your Trip To Rome
Hi Mary, I really enjoyed reading your recent blog on your trip to Rome and also enjoyed the amazing pictures that you took. I noticed that the buildings and other landmarks there are quite old. I also read where you mentioned the different prices of various foods. It looks like it is very expensive to get around as well as to eat there. I noticed that you visited many places while you were there. Is it true that there is a lot of walking? Also did you go on any sight seeing trips while there? During the summer this year I plan to visit one of the many cities there, do you recommend any places to eat, drink or visit?

Great blog
I wished I had been able to spend more time at the Trevi Fountain. I'm like you. I had waited since I was about 7 years old to be able to see it. I remember the movie, "Three Coins in the Fountain."

thanks for the laugh
it's been a few days since I've had a good laugh, but I got a chuckle out of you being a "non-hugger", and a great laugh at the picture you painted about crossing the street in china - too funny. I enjoy your journalling; keep at it & safe travels! -e
